I've been clean for two years now and this song reminds of the overpowering force that is substance abuse, which is in a surprising number of these posts. The last verse just reminds me of the hundreds of times I swore I'd never do it again and then just feel nothing but disgraceful relief after giving up on quitting. I just want to say to anybody feeling that at anypoint, don't quit next time, cause their might not be one. Todays all that matters, don't think about how to get through tomorrow, worry about today, that hour, that minute when you are the utmost weak and powerless over anything. This song reminds me of tools album 10 000 days, it's called 10 000 days because thats how long maynards mother was in a coma, this song seems to speak an extremely similar message as songs from 10 000 days. I mean now that you know about maynards mom, read(or listen) to this song again and I'll think you'll all see how obvious it is. Oh and if you disagree, I'd be happy to explain it line by line, though I don't see the need to. |
