that movie was awesome, i saw it again like 2 days ago and found it to be just as awesome as it was back when it first came out (i was like 12).
anyway, i think it may be about being alone in general and depressed and the term "cosmic castaway" just emphasizes the feeling of isolation that the subject is feeling (having the cosmos between you and everyone else). as for the chemical references, it could just be talking about medication (like antidepressants)

at the end its "couldn't miss this one this year" in the waitresses one. i think its better than keeping it the same all throughout the songs, but then again i also think that the spice girls should be a weapon of psychological warfare. |

well, im not going to dig into any religious connotations that this song may have, but to me it sounds like the singer is saying that he can't be hurt and telling whoever he is talking to not to even attempt an exercise in futility and try to hurt him. |

.....it actually makes me think of someone i know....and how i feel about her. again, this is a pretty straightforward song, as Outpour said, only i think that the word that describes his feelings is love, not infatuated, but thats just me. regardless of who is right (which is a question that has no answer) it is a beautiful song by the group. |

i think that its just about loving someone, but the families dont aprove, and that the "children behave" is sorta meant to express how they feel that they are treated. could be that they are teens, but its not necessarily so. |

i saw someone mention that in australia they use celcius too. thats because everyone in every other country except for those of us in the usa (and yes, i hate bush and am glad he's going out of office) uses the metric system. no idea why we dont. and for Jack R, sure its annoying to post lyrics in your comments, but it still is helpful. but isnt there a way to submit corrections? |

it seems to me, and im sure this has already been said one way or another, that this song is saying that the closer we get to what we want the less we care about getting it. for example, i remember how i used to want to drive a lot, and now that i am of driving age i really dont care too much about it. the storyies in this song, though short and from different walks of life, all seem to tell the same tale. its a sad song, but it still is great. simon is right up there with billy joel in my oppinion. |

well, i agree with dngshouse. and to answer a question (if it hasnt allready been answered) that was asked, i would imagine that nothing concrete is permanent. not sure that there is a whole lot of anything abstract that is permanent either due to the fact that most abstract objects are dependent upon humanity to exist. |

im not quite sure that this is political, so working fom that angle, i think that it is about standing your ground no matter what the odds appear to be and that anything is possible. plus, as awesome as dragons are all the lame fantasy stuff we hear about as kids involve dragons being slain by knights in shining armor. then again, the most badass teams have been the dragon and rider teams in my oppinion....and what is the difference between dragons, drakes, and wyverns (not sure if thats the right spelling) |

to me it sounds like the final reflections of a person who is dying but is sorta happy that the end came the way it did, likely fighting for some cause or to protect someone (possibly someone close to the singer). its a great song, regardless of the meaning and in my oppinion is fit to be played at like cop or soldier funerals.....and writing this is causing me to tear up lol, that usually doesnt happen |
