The Maine – Whoever She Is Lyrics 16 years ago
she = LIFE.

your life could be seemingly great: with money or cars, material things. but clearly money doesnt buy happiness..he "threw it all away" . life could also be complete shit (She could be rainy days, minimum wage, a book that ends with no last page). Every day can be the same old BS, but whats important here is the positive message being conveyed: One thing's for sure, you don't have to worry.

Hes saying that life seems to work itself out, no matter the situation -- as long as you have the people who have been there from the start by your side.

There For Tomorrow – No More Room To Breathe Lyrics 16 years ago
i think this song is about a long distance relationship -- specifically with one of the members away at college.

she keeps walking in and out of what they have, they are nothing serious -- nothing definite. he says "I thought you said you're different? from those who believe in it they believe (in Universities)" meaning that he thought she was different, but all these things turn out the same. shes a typical immature college girl, not ready to give him a real commitment. "So give it up if you're not still trying to hold it up in your four-time windowed room I've got the feeling that you're not using up all of your best bets"

plus he feels like he's competeing with all the other people shes with at college. shes using her "education" as an excuse to stay away at college -- but shes still away from him.

they ''have no more room to breathe'' in their relationship, aka they cant do anything or change the current circumstances.

TFT is absolutely brilliant.

There For Tomorrow – Pages Lyrics 16 years ago
This song could have something to do with giving up on love. Despite the changes and sacrafices people make in relationships, the once sturdy walls are coming down. Relationships grow and change as do the people in them-- theyre getting further and further away from what they know, and what they could be. Theyre just going further and further away from where they need to be to have a structured relationship and unfortunately, realized it "when they were least expecting" Ultimately, they realized that its over and they need to "turn the pages" and move on with their lives. When he says "I hope you wont leave yourself out When we turn the pages" he hopes that his past love can move on as well, like he did.

There For Tomorrow – Addiction And Her Name Lyrics 16 years ago
Agreed, I think this song has to do with the inability to let go of a relationship and/or a person. It has to do with a failed relationship--where the woman (addiction and HER name) had the upperhand. She inevittably hurt the songwriter, but now she cant let go. She always had the choice in the situation, but perhaps she realized what she had after it was gone. Especially the second verse.. "And its not that its too hard to try to turn your eyes and drive the pain away
Its how much easier it is to let it stay
Once again its on the tip my tongue
Dont you wish it was done?"

He is saying its really not that hard to turn away and let go, but its so much easier to keep the past relationship with you. He wants it to be over, he wants it to be done so they can both move on but theres always something preventing that from actually happening.

The Audition – What Gets You Through the Night Lyrics 16 years ago
absolutely one of the HIGH points on the album. slightly different sound for the audition, but nonetheless, still a wonderful display of lyrical perfection to say the least.

while he could be apologizing for a love-related mistake, i think it may have something to do with drugs and responsibility. the chorus is asking someone to stay with him--maybe they have given up on him before and he needs them now. hes disappointed them before, but now he wants to "make a breakthrough" even though they have always given everything to him. he cant go back on promises he made to stop using, but he needs help/support. the reason why he "continues abusing" are due to his insecurities, perhaps drugs are an escape for him..."dancing away at anything alarming." he doesnt know why he keeps making these mistakes, so hes asking for understanding and forgiveness, but he needs someone to help him through.
