Blue Rodeo – Somebody Waits Lyrics 15 years ago
This song is terrible, terrible. That entire album was terribly. What was Blue Rodeo thinking?

Blue Rodeo – Rain Down On Me Lyrics 15 years ago
This song and the video seem to speak of the effects of abuse on young women. This one grew up confused in how she related to others - confident on the outside but confused on the inside, and her relationships have elements of suffering.

This seems like a prequel to "This Town", definitely an amazing song that has always struck a chord with me

Blue Rodeo – Five Days In May Lyrics 16 years ago
I agree with Catie86, this song is a mixture of different people's experiencing, including Jim, in meeting their wives or falling in love etc. It's a pretty amazing song, one of my favourite songs by any artist. Given that reference, and the fact that they "find a face you've seen a thousand times" I feel that this song refers to a lasting relationship, and that perhaps the 5 days in May reference talks about the first time they met and how magical it seemed etc.

Blue Rodeo – Hasn't Hit Me Yet Lyrics 16 years ago
One more song by Greg Keelor involving his love of disillusionment. He'd almost prefer to be disillusioned that be happily in love, then again that's Blue Rodeo!
Great song.

Dave Matthews Band – Dancing Nancies Lyrics 16 years ago
I think this song talks about struggling with alcohol because one can't really figure out the meaning of life. The subject (haha, probably Dave at some point) was struggling with life, thinking he could have been anyone, even a gay prostitute in France, or etc. and the questions have no answers so he deals with them using alcohol. "Lick and taste whats the use in worrying" seems to refer to more than merely overcoming tough times, but to turning to alcohol (drugs maybe) to forget them for a while. "Turn turn we almost become dizzy" "My mouth is open wide" etc etc. These phrases seem to me to refer to somebody who is under the influence of something. In the end it would seem that he does actually overcome his dark contemplation, but I would argue that he wonders more about what could have been because he hates what he has become.
