Oasis – (Get Off Your) High Horse Lady Lyrics | 15 years ago |
This song is kind of psychedelic... although it's got short lyrics it's an awesome songit must be related to something with drugs or anything like that |

Arctic Monkeys – Teddy Picker Lyrics | 16 years ago |
This is in the wikipedia I hope it helps you all out as much as it's helped me hahah... it's actually not that hard to find it.. but here it is The song refers to the popularity of celebrities. A 'teddy picker' is British slang for a crane machine, a popular machine at carnivals where prizes, particularly stuffed animals, are picked by a mechanical crane. The song equates a person getting noticed as a celebrity with a prize being picked up by a crane-a result of luck. The song expresses annoyance with people who are so desperate to be famous that they do over-the-top things to get attention, such as participate in reality shows. Such occurrences of reality show 'stars' being treated as real celebrities are especially prevalent in the UK, the home of Arctic Monkeys, where the show Big Brother has spawned such national icons as Jade Goody. The line "don't be surprised when you get bent over" refers to the amount of celebrities or media darlings that are tricked or persuaded by the industry to continue their attention seeking by promises of fame or money. |
Coldplay – Death and All His Friends Lyrics | 16 years ago |
awesome begining to the song it just kind of gets lost from the middle to the end but still good..... Its meaning is pretty simple I guess... It's about enjoying life, leting go of your regrets and stupid revenges... It could also be against this ridiculous ' emo movement' that's been going on... hahaha just my take on it |
Coldplay – Viva la Vida Lyrics | 16 years ago |
AWESOME SONG!!!! best one from coldplay... although the name is pretty cheasy... Viva la vida reminds me of Ricky Martin hahah Viva la vida loca or something... but I guess the song's about life and love song...as most of the songs are the revolutions he mentions all along the song could easily be a metaphor to a relationship cause he does say "Once you'd gone there was Never an honest word And that was when I ruled the world"...and thats my take on it... so as soon as the person he love left he went from "owning the streets, to sweeping them"... from "King to pawn" it makes sense to me this way |
Cansei de Ser Sexy – Alala Lyrics | 16 years ago |
ok... first of all I am brazilian and nobody has to know what the sentence means but COME ON its time people knew that we speak onlly portuguese Alguém me avisa Quando é bom parar De fazer a íntima means somebody(please) tell me when I should stop making the intimate but fazer in portuguese can mean either do or make so I'm not one hundred percent sure cause its a really small sentence... but when albotrindade said it could be about shaving the genitals I think it could make sense in the context since the song is completely nonsense lyrically speaking ahahah |
Panic! at the Disco – When the Day Met the Night Lyrics | 16 years ago |
This song is awesome... it's like a picture... you can kind of see the images it places in your head... As for the meaning I think it's the perfect metaphor for a relationship... the sun being probably the man and the moon a girl... it takes place in a day in the middle of the summer when the days last longer and there are times when you can see both the sun and the moon, that is why "When the moon found the sun He looked like he was barely hanging on", because the sun is almost fading when this happens...and you can take this sentence to an actual relationship in which a girl saves the boy... the rest of it pretty much explains itself but this is a great, positive song... I never really liked Panic At The Disco cause I thought they were really "emo" but then this second cd came out and they are really musically evolved awesomeee |
Evanescence – Imaginary (Fallen version) Lyrics | 16 years ago |
This song isn't only about the creation of an imaginary world... as Tonbo said... at least I don't think it's about DAYdreaming it's about actual dreams when you sleep... I think it starts talking about Insomnia Imagine for instance, that Amy's room had one of those common 'wallpapers' of flowers.. then it makes sense for her to sing "OHHH Paper flowers!" - she cant sleep so she stares to the paperflowers. The part where she's actually sleeping begins in I liger in the doorway of alarmclock screaming monsters calling my name - The real worl is calling her, but she says " LET ME STAY!" and then she describes her 'imaginary' world where she wants to stay at... Her 'field of paper flowers' where she 'lies inside herself for hours' is her room while she's sleeping...nothing more... and this is both simple and deep. The second verse (after the chorus) is her explaining that she knows there's something else beside her dreaming world... Then these sentences come: "swallowed up in the sound of my screaming cannot cease for the fear of silent nights oh how i long for the deep sleep dreaming the goddess of imaginary light" the fear of silent nights is her fear of sleeping and not dreaming... and the goddess of imaginary light is actually HERSELF! she is the one who has the power over the imaginary light... this is awesome and I've read some comments that said this was about religion, but I really believe it's more personal and about herself... And this is it... Next to lithium this is my favorite song... ever! Amy Lee is the best songwriter I've said it before (despite call me when you're sober that sucks)... |
Evanescence – Like You Lyrics | 16 years ago |
Cho0xy21 has pretty much covered the meaning... This is certainly one of the most depressive songs I've ever heard although its one of the most beautiful... The strongest and most powerful sentence is when Amy sings "Halo, blinding walls between us Melt away and leave us alone again" this is soooo strong.... its a sort of complaint to God and Heaven for having taken her little sister away from her So she wants "heaven to go away" so everything can go back to the way it used to be before Bonnie died. The "blinding walls between us" shows that she believes her sister is somewhere she cant see... "and as we lay in silent bliss I know you'll remember me" I know its a little dark but I can picture this in my head somehow... she is the greatest songwriter I know... |
