A great way to finish this album. Im high right now and this song completes the trip. After returning to sun of nothingness the spaceship you feel like youre in from the Phase Inducer seems to casually float across space and the edge of time. I feel like im visiting the planets and overseeing the galaxy. This is fucking amazing. |

Im high right now and this song is great. When you listen to the Phase Inducer youre like on a spaceship. And then it kicks into this and pow youre returning to the sun of nothingness. The siren like noise in the background seems like the spaceship is about to crash into the sun. |

First off I must say this album is Trent finest work. And is just me or there subliminal messages in these songs. I'm sittin here 10 miles high and I swear I lose track of time getting lost in these songs. LOL. And at 3:56 it sounds like "We'll take you now Mr. Reznor" or "We'll see you now Mr. Reznor." kinda sounds like a doctor. Goes with the prospect of his grandmother in the hospital. |

Other than that this is a very good track. I love all of Trents instrumentals. Cause you don't need words to visualize what the music is trying to tell you. Ghosts I-IV was really amazing and it truly is the soundtrack for daydreams. Especially when your stoned.... |

This is an amazing instrumental. The first time I listened to this in a dark room I got this really creepy feeling that I couldnt shake until the next song had started. It just gots a real strange vibe to it.
Anyways, yes it does sound like a space ship descending to earth. It starts out peaceful and everything until halfway through the music has a darker edge starting to kick in. From a sequel to year zero perspective, this to me is the point where the lights in the sky which I think is the presence descend to earth. Mankind sees them as the only hope of salvation so welcomes them but then the music takes that darker edge and I believe the presence is now fucking over the survivors of the human race and finishing what they started. Maybe taking them in as slaves and forcing children upon them???? |

This song is about the soldier from YZ. This is about the human side of him. The one that still cares and has compassion for what he use to be. That side of him has become locked up inside of him because of the drugs and molding of him into a mindless fighting unit.

That is exactly what this song is about. And completely agree with your explanation. That is exactly what first came to mind when listened to these lyrics.
And for those of you who say that this isn't the YZ sequel, go back and take another listen to YZ then come back and listen to this album. It makes it much more easier to catch the references to the different themes of YZ. |

I agree with scarecrow826. The more I listen to this album, the more I can see the themes of the songs intertwining with certain themes from year zero.
And by the way, I believe The Fragile is his best album. And ghosts was, to me, a brilliant piece of work. If you actually take the time to stop what you are doing and actually listen to the music, you just get a better understanding of what its all about. |
