Sufjan Stevens – Casimir Pulaski Day Lyrics | 13 years ago |
"Your father cried on the telephone And he drove his car into the Navy yard Just to prove that he was sorry" pretty sure this is her dad driving to the navy yard (in DC) proving to god that he's sorry, (i can only assume for killing people in war). he thinks this could be punishment for what he's done |
Sia – Breathe Me Lyrics | 15 years ago |
aww this song reminds me of bella and jacob :( |
Jack White – Another Way To Die Lyrics | 15 years ago |
woot. first one. well, i might as well explain what it means to me so this wont just be an "in your face" comment. i kinda see this hitwoman who can't get close to any of her lovers because she's sent to kill them.. and in killing them, she kills a little of herself. it kinda tells the story of both sides of the relationship in the single verse. anyway, i love how both their styles are meshed, and it blends beautifully. |
Radiohead – High and Dry Lyrics | 15 years ago |
i certainly agree with dj_whut, this song is deeper than face value, but you can get out of it whatever you like. it does seem to be about being consumed with vanity and longingness to be a part of some terribly fake order, and eventually the one source of genuine happiness is pushed away |
Radiohead – Like Spinning Plates Lyrics | 15 years ago |
woah he totally says "like spinning plates" in reverse at 1:12. crazyyy |
Radiohead – Burning Bush Lyrics | 15 years ago |
radiohead did not write this. |
Radiohead – Street Spirit (Fade Out) Lyrics | 15 years ago |
when i hear this song, i picture this guy lying on the street looking toward the sky after some extreme accident, and all he sees are the houses above him.. and the houses fade into these blue hands touching him, which are the doctors' gloves operating on him. Its like he keeps jumping from one picture to the next, not knowing exactly what is real, so he gets this picture of all these houses crouded around him operating on him with blue doctor gloves. the things in all positions, the machines keeping him alive, will one day take control. (coma?) respirators keep your body alive, not your mind. what a sad story, and it is all true to life. |
Radiohead – There There. (The Boney King of Nowhere.) Lyrics | 15 years ago |
the vid is cool, too. watch it.. i think the overcoat and shoes represent reward and afterlife, which are ultimately taken away and he's left to nothing |
Radiohead – There There. (The Boney King of Nowhere.) Lyrics | 15 years ago |
hmm.. i think this songs about religion. it sounds like there's a 2 person perspective going on. without watching the video, i see this guy telling someone that there is no higher power, faith must exist in order to keep order (we'd be a walking disaster). the only thing we have is our conscience.. i see the person at the receiving end of this story completely bewildered and overcome with an extreme sense of loneliness. "heaven sent you to me" just seems to be mocking the original message |
The Academy Is... – The Phrase That Pays Lyrics | 16 years ago |
gosh, this song.. i know i can't stand when people write long life stories on here so i wont, but this song means so much to me now. a friend of mine passed away december 28, 2007 and we buried him on new years day.. and i had only known him this one semester of college, but in this short time we had the strangest connection. like, when two depressed people start talking, they can connect so differently and think on every level of a situation. anyway, we would listen to this song and the line "hold your head high heavy heart" will give me chills to my death, because that is always what i would tell him when he was feeling down. anyway, sorry for that. yeah, this song is definitely about seizing the day. something we should all do, because nobody knows when their time is finished. |
John Mayer – Say Lyrics | 16 years ago |
i really hope the radio doesnt freaking over play this song. i have a feeling it will. anyway, good song. not as bluesy as his songs on continuum, but still good. |
Radiohead – Jigsaw Falling into Place Lyrics | 16 years ago |
haha sorry my computer kept freezing up, i hit send like a bagillion times. |
Senses Fail – The Priest And The Matador Lyrics | 16 years ago |
it took me a while to figure out the "time of death is half past six" thing.. but i think i've got it. not only do both of the hands point toward hell, but if the second hand was on it as well, all of the hands would be pointing at 6, making it read "666." |
Radiohead – Nude Lyrics | 16 years ago |
i think its really weird that his voice sounds like Ariel's from the little mermaid at the end.. im pretty sure thats what he's trying to get at for some reason, because its almost exact. can anyone explain? |
Radiohead – Jigsaw Falling into Place Lyrics | 16 years ago |
im thinking this song is about him being at a club/bar or something and noticing a girl, and playing the whole night out in his head if he were to hook up with her. maybe hes going through everything that would happen if they were to exchange numbers, and doesnt like the outcome so he gets up and leaves, and they "regard each other as they pass," looking back thinking something could have happened (6th sense) but he chose otherwise. the whole song is a fantasy.. "I never really got there I just pretended that I had" the jigsaw falling into place is just an epiphany he ultimately has. idk, just throwing that out there. good song though |
