interesting, I would have to wager that this may be about a lover that has so much emotional baggage, but passes themselves off as having a great amount of wisdom gained through the pain of their past, a past that they cannot, or will not let go of. As its commonly known this obviously affects the current relationship in a negative way, so much so that every relationship is doomed until they let this old pain go, just a guess though, I certainly do hope this song gets more comments I am interested to hear what people think |

well just another generic post to a great song about lost love and the mistakes that we all make. Oh yeah, well this song was an important part of our former life together, and I think the meaning lies in the idea of looking at your life at an old age and enjoying the memories that are long gone and the people that you shared them with, not just a past or current love, but anyone who touched your life in a positive or negative way. at least thats what it means to me,i still see you Melissa, in that field............ |

This song has the same type of meaning for me, when THE ex, not just any Ex but THE ex, I ran into her at a social event and she started to tell me about her new partner, about how great he is, well I really connect with the line, "If you say she loves you, baby I don't want to know" of course changing her to him to meet our situation, eh, even now that I have moved on it still holds a special place in my heart and memory. |

I think this song is about moving on from an old love and trying to put those feelings behind you, not really missing the person, more missing the feeling of having someone and the little moments that two people in love share. A beautifully tragic song that has a special place in my life and is a favorite of a past love, it still hurts to listen to it, wonderful song though |
