im pretty positive that the lyrics are "sailing close" not "selling clothes" i mean that would make sense with the line about boats and suns, bays and sand and whatnot. and "(what rich girl has fucked for gold)" again, i think are the correct lyrics instead of that fish world shit. |

these lyrics arent 100%. little mistakes like "to the super or the moon" i think at least. this song kind of goes back to old old bright eyes lyrics such as those of padraic my prince, again about religion and being drunk in bathrooms. lol, old habits die hard i guess. but this song makes me think of marriage, actually. the line "carrots going to dangle until the diamond is appraised" makes it seem almost like a rejection. like the offer is going to stand until your ready. but im sure there are many things that insipired this song, or it could all be bullshit that looked good on paper, whos to say but conor right? |

the beginning is a story of a trip he had. i think, if anything, he had some kind of epiphany while high and wrote about it. there is some intentional symbolism and methaphors in there too. cobwebs for maps, just think of what a web looks like. its an intricate web that ultimately is a circle. good song, the dude can write. |
