Arcade Fire – Empty Room Lyrics 13 years ago
Why not? You're stuck in this room in which you wait and wait for the reason you might need to break out of your door, did you ever found yourself tied onto your bed, your windows are dark and your door is locked? If you did, you know that that is when your thoughts transform into their strangest ways and all you see is where you could be- if you just dared to move outside your room. And on top, you're in love and it's heartbreaking when it's in another part of the continent, it's not like you will ever meet in your room.

Counting Crows – She Don't Want Nobody Near Lyrics 15 years ago
It's about being all alone and to want someone in your life. Then you get someone and you're used to that they always leave so you get surprised when somebody decides to stay and suddenly there's a lot of pressure on you 'cause it's hard to make a relationship work. And so you start missing that loneliness of yours and you make up excuses to not be with that person all the time. It's like you're in love or addicted to the loneliness and that's really hard and dangerous too.

Pink Floyd – Astronomy Domine Lyrics 15 years ago
First of all I have to tell you that I do feel as confused over this theory of mine as you all are gonna feel. It's like this:
I think about the time when all the scientists of the world found out that the sun and all of the other planets actually didn't cycle around the earth but that it really was the other way around. You know that the people didn't want to know about it 'cause they believed what they've been told for ages in church and all. So that could be the "lime and limpid green, a second scene, a fight between the blue you once knew."
Finally people started to believe in what was the truth but it was hard for humanity to accept those facts.
This has nothing to do with the song really- just something that popped into my mind. Cool song though.

The Goo Goo Dolls – Can't Let It Go Lyrics 16 years ago
"And laughter is my soul's release
But we're not smiling anymore"

means the world is a bad place where many people got that sinking feeling and doesn't feel very good.

"Can't we try to win this peace
'Cause we're never gonna win
Never gonna win this war"

i think it's about giving up in a war to save all the people.. if no one's gonna win the war, why keep fighting? It would be a bit better to win the peace together.

i know, this doesn't make much sense.

The Goo Goo Dolls – I Don't Wanna Know (Fleetwood Mac cover) Lyrics 16 years ago
this song really fit in to my life once, there was a guy who got me "rockin' and a-reeling". I wanted so much to make him mine, i'm glad i didn't do it, anyway i really was crazy and my friends was a bit mad with me cause i wasn't myself.
I'm happy it's over now, but every time i hear this song it reminds me of that period. it kind of ruin the song cause i loved it really much back then i used to listen to it all day, and unfortunatly i still love it but it gives me terrible memories.

The Goo Goo Dolls – Black Balloon Lyrics 16 years ago
This song is written by John who came pretty close to his best friend Robby's wife. She was an heroin addict. And I think she died from it. A black balloon is something you use to inject the drugs in your veins, as someone already told you, and it's that that "makes her fly".
"A thousand other boys could never reach you, how could I have been the one?" means that he came so close to her and he was the only one she could talk to.
"Comin' down the world turn over" when the drugs didn't work anymore the world was to bad to her..
And in the end, it's really really great, "And I'll become what you became to me". Means that she taught him what life really is and that he could be a better person.

Well, this lyrics are quite sad.. but the song gives hope to us all anyway.
