I just heard this song at the end of the movie "joshua" and it caught my attention. This song is about the movie I believe Joshua had a habit of question whether his parents love him or not "You know they never really have to love me" And there's a part in the movie where joshua is playing "twinkle twinkle little star" on piano, and he kept missing notes "You always said I'd never miss a note" It believe its about someone with bad intentions and longing for something or someone, but gets around by showing fake emotions, even when people actually try to care for the person.. And knowing that regardless of them trying to help this person.. They know inside they could never change..... Goddamn, those lyrics are fuckin amazing! Kyle made these lyrics pretty much self explanitory..... pretty much.. That we as people, in this beloved nation... have no contact with any truth....... we are mononpolized and fed, bullshit lies at young ages, only to hear that years later.. It was so much more than what was ever stated.. He made references to the indians of the 1840s..and personally I know this to be true, in high school I learned that shit... that they were murdered, raped, pillaged, etc..... and honeslty fuck THANKSGIVING. Celebrating a holiday, were supposedly indians met with pilgrims in unity... what they for got to mention.. Was the fact that a huge percentage of the indian population had been slain... anywho, back to subject... he's basically saying that without conscious awareness of what happened, and what continues to happen...Us as humans will never progress.. I believe this song is about, a personal experience trevor, (I'm assuming) went through, with either a woman, or a really close friend ... the situation obviously involved betrayal which is clearly stated in the lyrics multiple times such as this line "I fell upon-the comfort of your words. A flash of light- taught me a lesson in betrayal" . In literal essence, it seems as though the person literally turned their back on trevor by murdering him, hence the line" the knife slipped in-pushed by the most famialiar hands".. Or maybe just as metaphor, his friend stabbed him the back....however trevor thus realizes he is the only person he can trust.. And he is accepting of this new found burden..... he is accepting that all the years of friendship have gone to waste...this song is full of metaphors.. And can be taken many ways.. As whole I believe it is about betrayal of a friend... |
