Tori Amos – Pink and Glitter Lyrics | 14 years ago |
I do believe she says "..a grown up motor-toy" and I am IN LOVE with this song. It is beautiful. Tori's take on the seasonal album is amazing. She has produced another album that just tore the socks from my feet. I think this song is about the season of winter but doing something different than "silver and gold" this time it is "pink and glitter" and I think she is addressing the feminine aspect that always gets lost or ignored. In the thirty minute interview she explains about the feminine and the rebirth of light. I completely understand what she means. Ahh, I love her. |

Tori Amos – Goodbye Pisces Lyrics | 15 years ago |
"I'm a sucker for a good love song. One of my friends had sent me this book called Sextrology, mainly just cause she's into that kind of stuff. Anyway, I was thumbing through it one night, as you do, and I started thinking about how in a relationship you can't stop yourself sometimes from putting your lovers attitude about something down to their sign. I don't necessarily think that the male character I'm singing about is a Pisces, he might have Pisces in his chart somewhere. but more than anything it's about the end of an age - whether that's the end of a relationship of the end of the Piscean age, which has been the last two thousand years. And sometimes a relationship can feel like it's been going on for 2000 years." [Tori Amos: Piece by Piece] if any of you tori fans want to read up on her, www.yessaid.com is the perfect site. |
Tori Amos – Father Lucifer Lyrics | 15 years ago |
Oh wow, whoever wrote the lyrics, I actually sat down and listened to the overlaying lyrics until I was absolutely positive I had the third verse down and I do believe she actually says It's like he/she's hiding In the highest tower Just got to keep Hiding til drum fall Swearing bells and Purple patterns and Girl I got a condo in Hoboken I do see the references to Trent Reznor |
Tori Amos – Pancake Lyrics | 15 years ago |
I was listening to this song the other day, the one with the added verse, which you can get from yessaid.com> downloads> rareities these are the lyrics to the added verse. you tear through them fields of cotton the impressionable ones i believed in you once so did she, she was so young you turn the man against the land you turn the woman against her own you are power, you are ambition you like ‘em blonde and with this, I believe this is a very political song. Tori is speaking directly to this essence of "the man" and not just "the man in America" I mean "the man" everywhere. In different countries, in different cultures, in different religions, and in different societies. I had an epiphany when I was stoned, laying and listening. Tori is speaking for the humans who once had morals and value, the tribes who understood earth and the balance within the chaos. The evil and the good forces of nature. So, now I am trying to unlock the hidden secrets of Scarlet's Walk..I jump from album to album and I think Scarlet is speaking. |
Pink Floyd – Bike Lyrics | 16 years ago |
I love this song, it's so good. I think it's just about him (syd) being in love or infatuated with a girl and he is willing to do anything in order for her to notice him or to like him back. Also I love the line "he's getting rather old but he's a good mouse" its so cute and quirky. I love Syd Barrett, he is awesome. I read his bio last night and it made me sad because he had amazing potential. |
Regina Spektor – Pavlov's Daughter Lyrics | 16 years ago |
At first I didn't like this song too much, but now I love it, it's so good. I'm just throwing this out there, but did any of you ever think may Lucille who lives downstairs might be a reference to Lucifer (the devil) maybe not, idk. It was just a thought |
Regina Spektor – I Cut Off My Hair Lyrics | 16 years ago |
I agree with angstiosis and The Agressor. I love this song, I always get goosebumps when she says "blood trickled down, don't you ever miss me?" btw agstiosis is my sister!! |
Regina Spektor – Better Lyrics | 16 years ago |
Ok, so this is what I think about it. "Born like sisters to this world in a town where blood ties are only blood" Sisters have a natural bond that can't be broken, so if you are 'born like sisters to this world' then you automatically have a pull toward each other, but 'in a town where blood ties are only blood' could signify that even with that bond, the friendship could still fall apart because family doesn't mean as much as it used to. And "if you never say your name out loud to anyone, they can never ever call you by it" if you never show anyone your true self they will never know you and they can never hurt you or make you feel any better because they don't understand you. In conclusion I really love this song and I love Regina too, she is an amazing musician and she knows her music. The way she composes the music is wonderful. |
