You are spot on. The lyrics themself serve no purpose whatsoever. If these lyrics were on a piece of paper lying on my floor, I'd pick it up and say, "This is crap. Simply crap." I would then throw it away. |

People misinterpret songs all the time... Guy and girl are together. GIRL breaks up with guy for another guy, who is EMO. "So serenade her with your last pathetic suicide love song."

I can't really listen to a band if I don't really enjoy their lyrics and what they sing about. I mean, if ya think about it, the lyrics to a band is what makes them stand out. There are a lot of bands that copy each other musically. Especially with hardcore/metalcore/mathcore, or whatever you would like to call it. I just really enjoy their lyrics and music put together. It wouldn't really be cool if he was screaming "EAT THE BABIES!" or something weird like that. These songs have meaning, and make you think. |

The Chariot – Good Night My Lady, and a Forever Farewell Lyrics

Just because Josh is married has nothing to do with what he writes songs about. Anyone can write a song about anything. He could be writing about something that happened to his friend, or someone close. It's not always a huge, deep, buried way down in the ground meaning guys... Songs can be simple. |

You, sir, seem to have missed the "We's" and "You've's" throughout the whole song. Not to mention the "Stand in front of the jury, with no happy ending." Songs can be plain and straight forward too, ya know. It doesn't always have to be some long drawn secret message. |

Destroy the Runner – A Novel of War Lyrics

I think in some parts of this song Chad is singing from the point of someone that doesn't BELIEVE, BELIEVE in God. They believe there's some kind of God, but not one that true christians. They only pray when they want something. Like he says, they're justifying a belief in a God that's left you behind (their God), but still only want THEIR wishes and prayers answered.
I dunno if this is right, but it's a guess. |

You guys are all basically retarded. It's about a girl who broke up with a guy, and she went out with an EMO GUY. And he's just singing about their faggot emo love that doesn't mean anything. So people that thought this, you're not retarded.
Thank you. |

As Cities Burn – Bloodsucker Pt. 2 Lyrics

I believe it's about a guy talking to his friend and giving him advice. And he's telling him he shouldn't have sex before getting married. Just read the lyrics, it makes sense. "Well it's yours, you can have it if it means that much." and "Are you the man now that you got what you wanted!? Are you the man now that you got it?!" Welp, that's what I think it's about. |

Within Hearts Potential – Day of Decision Lyrics

All right, the singer just posted the real lyrics. Sorry for not getting them right peoples. Here are the actual lyrics.
"So you find yourself at another fork in the road, another obstacle to overcome. Irrationality leads you to believe you're headed for a golden road. Desperate times call for desperate measures, and it's time to get desperate. We have followed paths to brighter days and have been face to face, with a powerful being thats now been misplaced. The comfort once willing and strong has turned its back to be truthfully wrong. Hold your breath. Pray for the end because you feel you've felt the worst. A strong start to a new beginning is now in our vision. Protector of innocence, all life has been drained. Be our light and guide us through this internal darkness, to an old beginning where we stand tall, free of all that harms to destroy. The storm rolls on and life goes on!" |

August Burns Red – A Shot Below the Belt Lyrics
| 16 years ago
|
I think it's about a kid in a non-Christian home, but he wants to seek out Christianity. His parents don't want him to, and they criticize him and "Take a shot below the belt" so to say. He's not really happy with his life and thinks there's something more. "This cloud over my head is not okay. There are things I need to get done, and it doesn't give you permission to take a shot below the belt." And even though he's "stuck in-between two worlds" of faith and non-faith, he's still trying to find joy in his life... "What a bitter sweet symphony life is, but I wouldn't have it any other way..." |

It's obviously about a corrupt pastor.
"Do I even care, as I watch a sea of people dwindling into an audience of skin and bones- An audience who doesn't have the strength to walk out on a man who has tarnished their faith?"
^It's definitely straight forward.^ |

August Burns Red – The Truth of a Liar Lyrics
| 16 years ago
|
It's about becoming a Christian. And how non-Christians go around like nothing's wrong with their life and nothing is missing. "Go ahead, partake in it, justify it. Become engulfed in it." That's saying you know you're doing something wrong, but you're justifying it, and making excuses for everything you're not doing. And even for some Christians out there. Some of us have become lazy and have not taken going to Church seriously. We're not supposed to live our life the way we want to, but the way God wants us to. And if you don't believe this then... "The truth hurts, but denials what will kill you." |

August Burns Red – The Blinding Light Lyrics

So they prayed for George Bush? So what?? George Bush isn't the government dude. Although, the first time I read this song I totally thought it had a lot to do with homeschooling and how parents can be way over-protective of their children to a point that the children don't even know how to react in a social environment. And in some way I still see the song as that. August Burns Red rules!!!!!! |

^HAHAHAHA!!^ That's funny. It seems that it could actually be about that, but I think almost all of Norma Jean's lyrics are Biblical. Just look at "Face: Face" Anyway... Norma Jean is one of the most amazing bands out there, and anyone who thinks they aren't EXTREMELY TALENTED shouldn't even be listening or posting comments on songs. Long live the hardcore queen, NORMA JEAN! |

August Burns Red – The Balance Lyrics

Welp... I suppose this song could be about what adventFLUX said it was about. Although, it seems to have a reference to some disobedient child or something like that. And that society today doesn't let parents discipline their children. So, instead of just spanking them because they're unruly, we have to give them drugs because doctors are always trying to make excuses and say children have so many problems, but a good wooden paddle to the ass would fix things right up. Just a thought. |

Sounds like either a guy or a girl wants to leave their family and even though he/she is gone they "will survive through thick and thin." And though he/he left, they've forgiven. It doesn't really sound like something August Burns Red would sing about, but it's just a thought. |

Dredg – Ode to the Sun Lyrics

This songs could be about a number of things. But to that uchihasasuke dude. Catch Without Arms is about music today and it's plain-ness. "So sing about love, sing about lust, so they will care. It's the same difference." meaning that if you sing about plain things like love and lust the radio will play it. Dredg is not a band that wants fame and fortune. And this song is beautiful. |
