The Tallest Man on Earth – The Sparrow and the Medicine Lyrics | 12 years ago |
splitting the winds apart, i'm pretty sure. how do you split something like the wind? a beautiful thought i agree with Malenkaja who said that this song is about choosing addiction over love. Especially the line "still standing on the corner where i left you, digging up a quite sufficient track" has the obvious connotation that he is still addicted, where he was when she left, track literally referring to track marks. it's a beautiful song about regret, i think. |
The Mountain Goats – Have to Explode Lyrics | 13 years ago |
They are going through alcohol withdrawl together. |
Soulive – Joyful Girl Lyrics | 15 years ago |
haha oklaura this song is excellent, though. i can get lost in it. |
The Shins – Little Boxes (Malvina Reynolds cover) Lyrics | 15 years ago |
yay for weeds. i thought the covers of the theme where a good idea, but i think they did it poorly. there were a few exceptions, but almost every different version had the same feeling attached. but weeds is still excellent |
Spoon – Advance Cassette Lyrics | 15 years ago |
haha, owly jr, 10 points for effort. i think losing the song is a metaphor for losing the person. maybe he cheated on her (getting caught?) and she left him. or maybe she left for another reason. if he cheated, that doesn't really explain the highway part, so i don't know. |

Fugees – Fu-Gee-La Lyrics | 16 years ago |
this website is mad funny. there's a lot to be interpreted in this song, but i'm not gonna be the one to think about it (though that is the purpose of this forum). |
Amy Winehouse – Rehab Lyrics | 16 years ago |
hahaha amy winehouse smokes crack. |
Grateful Dead – Scarlet Begonias Lyrics | 16 years ago |
this song is pure love. pure fucking love. The sky was yellow and the sun was blue. i'm so happy i could die. p.s. when janis sings this with the dead, it's a beautiful thing. |
Counting Crows – Another Horsedreamer's Blues Lyrics | 16 years ago |
great... those last few entries are really ridiculous. you seem to be a bit off topic. chingy_d seems to have hit the nail on the head though. this is a great song about a troubled girl betting on horses and taking pills to distract from her sad life. honestly, i don't like the counting crows very much, but i have a friend who loves them, and he insisted i listen to this song. i actually love this song. |
Michael Franti And Spearhead – Ganja Babe Lyrics | 16 years ago |
i love this song so much. my first franti song. my friend made me a weed mix and this was on it. it was greattt. the meaning is pretty evident. weed is good. my favorite part:so baa baa black sheep have you any wool yes sir, yes sir a nickel bag full |
Michael Franti And Spearhead – Soulshine Lyrics | 16 years ago |
i love this song. it's quite possible about weed, and how when life's got you down, you just need a little lift and you're free. it's a beautiful thing. |
Kottonmouth Kings – All About The Weed Lyrics | 16 years ago |
straight forward. it's all about the weed. GANJA! |
Kottonmouth Kings – 4-2-0 Lyrics | 16 years ago |
p.s. i am a kottonmouth soldier :) |
Kottonmouth Kings – 4-2-0 Lyrics | 16 years ago |
best song to wake up to, smoke to, party to, fall asleep to... love it! |
The Shins – Young Pilgrims Lyrics | 16 years ago |
this is my favorite shins song, ever. it was the song that made me love them. it's about wanting to control your own destiny and such. best part: "Of course I was raised to Gather courage from those Lofty tales so tried and true, but If you're able I'd suggest it, 'cause this Modern thought can get the best of you" when you're little, you're told fables and fairytales to give reasons for stuff you can't understand, but when you grow up, modern thought is the better explanation. i think. yeah. best song. |
The Shins – Australia Lyrics | 16 years ago |
time to put the earphones on. no! watch the video for this song. it's incredible :) before i saw the video, i never really noticed this song. i liked it, but i always paid more attention to songs like kissing the lipless, new slang, and caring is creepy. but after i watched the video, i really fell in love with this song. it's wonderful. |
Shpongle – A New Way To Say Hooray Lyrics | 16 years ago |
first shpongle song i heard. it's so great. especially when you're tripping. but even when you're not, it puts you in this great trance. it's wonderful |
Iron & Wine – Cinder and Smoke Lyrics | 16 years ago |
oh. my. god. this is... so intense and beautiful i can't even begin to describe it. the lyrics are wonderful, but the actual music is bringing tears to my eyes. |
Zero 7 – In The Waiting Line Lyrics | 16 years ago |
live. die. whatever. mad trippy song. |
Red Hot Chili Peppers – She Looks to Me Lyrics | 16 years ago |
oy. grissom. you are entitled to your opinions, but it breaks my heart that you don't see the beauty of this song. it's a great song about a girl with serious troubles, and the boy trying to save her because he loves her. my ex-boyfriend gave me this song when i was having a few troubles, and he wanted to help me. |
Red Hot Chili Peppers – Californication Lyrics | 16 years ago |
wonderful. wonderful. cynical and beautiful. |
Grateful Dead – Terrapin Station Lyrics | 16 years ago |
sandoz! yeah trip song. but a mad deep trip song. it's about everything. |
The Hush Sound – Momentum Lyrics | 16 years ago |
i think everyone pretty much understands this one. two friends who like eachother, but are unsure about making the jump from friends to dating. they're just waiting for something to happen so that they can be together. lovely song :) |
Rufus Wainwright – Cigarettes and Chocolate Milk Lyrics | 16 years ago |
no it's not. it's a rufus wainwright original. it's about meth. or should i say, he wrote it about meth. but because of the crazy good medaphors, any listener can relate it to anything in their lives. i like the reprise version (in the last kiss) better, but both versions are great. |
Ben Lee – How To Survive A Broken Heart Lyrics | 16 years ago |
wordd. "And the things you said Do they still make sense Could you mean them now Did you even mean them then I could torture myself Insane and tense But I don't have the strength" basically, all i can say is...word. perfect. oh, and ouch. |
Ben Lee – Aftertaste Lyrics | 16 years ago |
basically, it's about a bad relationship. i was in a relationship where both of us were in really bad places in our lives, and we were constantly blaming the other for our own problems. i feel like this song describes our relationship. there are just too many thigns that we couldn't control, and there was absolutely nothing we could do to make eachother okay. by the way, if it were anyone's fault, it was mine. |
Ben Lee – Catch My Disease Lyrics | 16 years ago |
i think it's a song about happiness, perhaps with a double meaning of STDs, but not necesserily. whitebait- what makes you say that? i'm not disagreeing, i'm just curious as to how you came to that conclusion. |
Ben Lee – Into The Dark Lyrics | 16 years ago |
gotta love this song. it's like finding an oasis in the world, with someone you love. that person is making him so happy. maybe he's not on the same page as that person ('cause he's still gotta find his way to her heart), but even so, she's making his life make a little more sense. |
Nirvana – All Apologies Lyrics | 16 years ago |
to me, this song is about desperation. it's vague. it can apply to whatever you're upset about when listening to it. the thing about kurt was that he wrote down whatever was rolling around in his head. it's always got raw emotion, but there isn't always a clear analysis. kurt, you're my hero forever. |
Red Hot Chili Peppers – The Zephyr Song Lyrics | 16 years ago |
whenever i hear this song, i feel like my entire life is about to make a dramatic change for the better. it's probably my second favorite song of all time. i think it can be about being high (coming down, no not today), because you're sort of flying when you're high. but it can also be about how when you're with the right person, drugs or not, you're flying. you're invincible. you're never coming down. all the worl can pass you by, it doesn't matter because the two of you are going to live forever. |
