Death Cab for Cutie – Champagne from a Paper Cup Lyrics 16 years ago
To me, "champagne from a paper cup" refers to a girl who is rich on the interior, full of personality, though her exterior is lacking.

"Drinking champagne from a paper cup
Is never quite the same" implies that when one has the option for 1) a beautiful girl on the inside and out in comparison to 2) one who is merely beautiful on the inside, one will choose the girl with both beauties. He is probably at a small party and reminiscing of an old past girlfriend who had everything in his eyes, but that night he is drunk enough to not care and drive her home to have a meaningless rump.

The Spill Canvas – All Hail The Heartbreaker Lyrics 16 years ago
This song is definitely cliche. I think everyone has gone through this stage in their life, and if they haven't, it will come-- trust me.

To me, it's a typical teenage love story. You're together, you're not, you make up, on, off, on off, etc and a bunch of bruhaha.

Each paragraph/verse shows transition. The first, "I had the feeling that you'd open up my eyes
to a whole new world that had since been in disguise
But that day will most likely never come for me"

This is his way of being sarcastic, to make himself feel better, or right, that he knew it would happen all along. Another example...

"I had the notion that you'd make me forget the world
But your undecisive mind shows me that you are "just another girl""

But then, he starts feeling regret.

"The truth is that I've never fallen so hard"

And he starts reminiscing the good things he remembers

"Your lips, your eyelashes, your skin"

In the end, it is decided that he is rather passive-submissive in the way that he goes from being angry and in control to letting go and letting this girl get what she wants. He now wants to do whatever she pleases or makes her happy.

"I'll be the giver you'll be the taker,
I guess this one's gonna go..." >sarcasm<

Setting himself up for rejection.

Tristan Prettyman – Love, Love, Love Lyrics 16 years ago
I believe this song was written by Tristan and to herself ultimately.

She loved a certain man, but told herself to stop trying because he made her cry [perhaps because he's far away, travelling, etc].

And though she sees herself "coming undone," she knows that in the end, everything will work out for her, because that's how everything unravels.

Whether it be with him or not... Love is everywhere.

Tristan Prettyman – Anything At All Lyrics 16 years ago
I listened to this song on repeat after driving hundreds of miles just to end things with my boyfriend at the time face-to-face. He never seemed to care for me as much as I did him.

"I remember when I first saw you. I remember the way how I felt... And now you're breaking me to pieces. I don't know how I'll deal with this..." is what I went through before

"But it all came to me... Driving home crying my eyes out. But if I learned anything at all, it was to never give up."

And though I did cry, I realized that the world wasn't over. I was only 19 at the time, and had so much to look forward to.

"Cause I see all my dreams laid out in front of me and for once... It doesn't seem so tough."

Good therapy song, definitely!

Dashboard Confessional – The Best Deceptions Lyrics 16 years ago
I'm sure my comment won't even be read at this point, seeing how I'm the 10,000th person to comment, but here's my 2 cents.

When I heard about this song, the first thing that came to my mind was that the girl who went on this trip cheated while they two were together.

"Well, I guess I should have heard of that from you."

The "Best Deceptions" and "Clever Cover Story" imply that she played him well. "Don't you see that the charade is over?" best implies that relationship is shot.

"You're calling too late, too late to be gracious" is the girl calling to apologize, saying she didn't mean to cheat, that is meant nothing [probably blaming it on alcohol... lol]

"you're calling too late."
