And the song’s third verse was based on a true story after McIlrath watched a documentary called “The Ground Truce.” Moved by the film, McIlrath wrote a majority of the song inspired by the stories and images presented in the documentary. “(...)As this war is hopefully coming to a close, and as stories of what happened are coming out, I needed to write a song that dealt with the reality of war.” |

i really miss times with powerfull, full of angry, full of metaphors and meaning lyrics. not mentioning melodies... still good song but its not the same i mean - where is that thing that made you think for a while and to interpretate lyrics on your own and when every single person could have his own interpretation that wasn't same as any other - now its just plain what the song is about. |

| comparing to roadside - it's great. great idea to go to other theme with acoustic song (if they really need to put an acoustic one on album). cause i think roadside was put on s&w a bit on force after sucsess of swing life away. personally i dont need any acoustics on hc albums but i guess that's their style and maybe kids who loved swing life away will put their attention to this one and understand the message. because the message of this song is really great and just... true - as always with Tims lyrics. it basically tells people about their nonsensical pride of killing other people when it comes to war. | |

it's definately different one from their past love-themed songs. mood is pleasant and chorus is really catchy, not like eg everchanging or but tonight we dance. at first it sounds like a really happy song. besides the mood fits great with simple themed lyrics i personally don't like poppy sounds but i like the fact that they went to other direction, it's always something refreshing nevertheless they could do more hardcore thing on new album - that's what most people expected and that's why we are disappointed |
