This song is totally about smoking weed! I love blazing to this song with my buddy as we both act out his actions to explain it to other people. |

Better Than Ezra – It's Only Natural Lyrics
| 14 years ago
|
I think the Jack the Ripper reference is to the girl sneaking out at night to see him. Since Jack the Ripper was known to kill his victims at night when no one is around, that's what he was referring to.
The meaning of the song is pretty blatant, he's telling his girl that it's natural to have sex, "hey we'll be like monkeys and just go wild". That's my take on it at least |

Dispatch – Bats In The Belfry Lyrics
|
I did not realize this until Moving to Bozeman Montana, but I played this song for a friend and apparently there is a Belfry Montana and their High School mascot is the bats. Also Old Man River is a river just north of Montana in Alberta Canada. It may be a crazy coincidence but who knows.
Other possible relations-
"I'm in the open, catching all the leaves"
Montana is extremely low populated and known for it's open wilderness
"I'm in the Kitchen, Boiling society"
The culture here is much different from the rest of the US as I have experienced.
"We all do what we want"
It is extremely Libertarian here and the people dislike heavy government control, plus you pretty much CAN do anything if you go outside of the towns into the wilderness or open plains.
Just some observations I've made :) |

KoЯn – All In the Family (feat. Fred Durst) Lyrics

Umm, I'd have to say that Deftones are the creators of Nu Metal, they were created 5 years before Korn. They didn't really want to be part of the Nu Metal phase but there's no denying they kicked it off for the rest of the bands. |

Socratic – May I Bum A Smoke Lyrics

Lol "throwing sunshine in their eyes?". I found out about this band from a friend and this is the first song i heard from them. Second favorite song behind Lunch for the Sky. To me it's about the good ol' days of not having a care in the world and just smoking some weed with a friend and hanging out without dealing with all the Emo BS. |

R.E.M. – Oddfellows Local 151 Lyrics
|
It seems to me that it's about drunk homeless people hanging outside the liquor store in the alleyways and spewing their "wisdom" to those that pass by. Much like you see the sidewalk preachers talking about the "end of days". And people just stare at them and the homeless people and hear their strange drunken mutterings. |

The Tragically Hip – Gus: The Polar Bear From Central Park Lyrics

Even though I am a "silly American" The Hip are my favorite band and I see them every time they come to Cleveland. Can't wait to see them in May right after graduation.
I have not lost all hope in the U.S. And although I would rather live in Canadia (lol) than in the United States, It is better to at least better to try and fix the system first. |

Pink Floyd – Comfortably Numb Lyrics

Even thought the song is about being shot up on heroin it deffinately has the same feeling when really stoned on pot (i would know). and thats why we do it. not to feel the pain anymore. Just to be blissfully ignorant and happy. |

Pink Floyd – Goodbye Cruel World Lyrics

Its not a suicdide song. Not because i don't think Rogers would write one (all true fans know he did people). But this isn't one of them. Its about how you become so enclosed in ur own little world. behind "ur on little wall" so to speak, and u'll never "see the world again" not suicidal, just a man locking himself out from the world. |

Rush – The Pass Lyrics
|
"some reason this sounds like its about neil pearts daughter who died in a car crash when she was only 19. it might have been written before that though. im not positive. but that seems to fit"
no, it was written so long before they both died. But this song seems more against suicide rather than literally being about it. It seems to mostly say keep on pushing when times are at the worst |
