first off, what a kick ass title to a track looking at face value it's about Alcohol abuse like previously said but to me, it's about self abuse, "Where is your comfort now? It's on the way out Where are your reasons now? They're all worn out is the counselor/shrink/friend telling him that he needs to stop and there is no good reason hes doing this to himself This is a sickness You cannot conceive he's telling who ever that they don't have any idea wheres hes at or what hes thinking, that he simply can't stop and just so you know i forget but one of there members just checked into rehab again I wish you the best mate. |

dan, theres more then one version this one is off trepidation and is near perfect i saw 2 minor errors this song is insains and i haven't been able to figure it out but that doesn't stop me from loving the hell out of it. I love his writing style theres no other band like it. |

during the an interview j said"if we knew the real meaning we would want to tar and feather him... I really love this song, favorite off of vol2 like you wouldn't even know so much emotion and so much passion in this song and I'll tell you what this song means 2 me... "You want him, you need him, It's so hard to please him, You just don't dare," sounds like a little kid or even a child who has an sexually(?) abusive parent that loves his father and just wants him to be happy with who (s)he is, but on the other hand (s)he is afraid of them at the same time "And inside you're burning, with some secret yearnings, you must not care," i think hes saying even though the child is being abused he wants to tell someone but just can't out of fear "Still won't you help me, I'm flawed, desperate, angry with God, cause he just won't care," this child is going thru hell and back feeling like they are the reason they are being abused..Wondering why the abuser is hurting them so much when they say they love em they even go so far as to blame god because there father just doesn't care "oh, excuse me, you're morning, how callous and boring, I brush your hair, see your face, empty smile I touch that face, all the while" sounds like the father is about to...err the parent is about to abuse the child..he starts touching the child and the child smiles but its a smile out of fear and pain rather then happiness "you know it wont stop, so you make an excuse to confuse the issue," i think this says a lot right here and is pretty much taken for face value..the child is marked up from the abuse and makes excuses and such to cover them up "what make you think that i'll care about you? when you lay on the ground till he tells you he's through," the abuser is confused bewildered even..he doesn't understand why they child lets him do this to them and is confused why they think he cares about them "he'll do what he'll do, and he'll do it to you, and all the while, he's been using you, yes all the while, he's abusing you," "hes saying that hes not going to stop ever..hes saying that hes using the child, abusing the child and he always will as long as he can so it finally dawned on me, yesterday morning, i just can't stare, the child relizes whats happening is wrong and (s)he just can't accept the facts and swallow the words, that your hero's perverted" durring all of this the abuser always told her/him that he loved her, that she really mattered to him and the child still thinks that they do care(im not to sure on this one) i'll kill him, I'll beat him. The cycle's repeating. I hold thin arrogance the child has grown up probably in her teens hates her father for what he did wants him dead still wont you hold him and trust him, you love him, so much, and he still wont care, (im confused) i think this goes back to when shes a child or maybe even now apart of her still loves her father just because of the fact that "hes her father" but it doesn't matter how much she cares and loves him her father hasn't changed the child still loves him and would do anything for the abuser because they truly do love him, but the abuser doesn't care to see your face, with an empty smile, cause i touched my place on you, and all the while... I already talked about this... the abuser knows what hes doing to the kid he knows hes hurting them severely..by now the child probably relizes that with your naked excuse you confuse your misuse, shes trying to make excused for her father(?) trying to justify his actions what makes you think that I should care what he'll do, you lay on the ground till he tells you he's through, and he makes up your mind that that's what you should do cause all the while you, you've been using you, yes all the while, you've been abusing you, shes realizing that there never was love after all he hurts you, miss treats you, your own mind misleads you, you just won't care, saying that it was so obvious that what he was doing was wrong but she convinced herself that he realldy did care when he didn't when holes in your face cant be covered with makeup you'll still stay there. alough shes older it still hurts her no matter what she does its always going to hurt her now idk if im right or close but the reason i came to this thought my gf was sexually abused by her father that creep is in jail but a lot of what this song talks about how she feels/felt. anywho my interpritation is kinda of a mess...stream of thought right? |

i know what the songs means at the writers point of view and i totally agree with you but to a more personal level It makes me think of my friend Tyler who committed suicide 8 months ago "Your suffering was all in vain" by him killing himself his pain was to no avail "It's almost over now" hes about to end it...
