It's on the new album for sure. Just listened to it. Some of the imagery at the beginnign reminds me a bit of Oddysseus returning to what's-her-name after the Trojan War. I think that's meant as metaphor, though, and I wouldn't say this story is about Greek Mythology.

I am in love with this song. Definately about unrequited love. I really like that bit about him feeling complete if this other guy could ever touch him, but it never working out. Such a perfect line. Sounds like this guy has really screwed himself up out of love for him (I assume him because of the just a boy line, but it's not as though gender is really an issue), and is now officially mad about it. |

I'm feeling this song, so much. I totally agree it was about a girl royally screwing him over, who does it to many guys. He loved her, but she was just playing him. Now he's depressed, trying to deal with it, and she's out doing the same thing to a new guy every night. I absolutely love, "Going to sleep now, going back to find square one. Square two will be where I deal will all the shit that you've just done." So heartbreaking. He has to basically start his life over, try to forget her, before he can even deal with the damage she's done.
I got screwed over by a guy recently, and I'm finding square one again. It's HARD. |
