| I think this song is based around the power of conformity. I think it's talking about how we know our generation today is sort of dark but were afraid to save it due to the fact we think we'll be hated for being different. Then when someone does break free we make them feel terrible so that we won't break our fake selves and reveal the real us. As much as we may deny it their is mass conformity among the youth of our world today and nobody's going to change it. Despite the fact we're all hating it most of us are participating in it. This seems to be talking about the fact that if individually we all just be ourselves there will be no norm. and therefore no basis on which to judge people. lots of problems would dissapear but we do nothing about it. Again as I said though we all hate it we all do it Therefore continuing the cycle. You do it...someone saw you they do it...someone saw them that person does. And so on until we are all trapped in a mold of lies pain and self destruction. | |

As far as the song meaning goes... well the beginning seems to state our home status on earth. 'Empty house far away Lost in lonely space You know you've felt the same' nah meen? Then I think it's talking about pain we may have had through out previous relationships and how that scares us away from becoming closer to Jesus. 'From the shallows in love To the depths of your scars You know you want to change' The basis of the song I think based on the chorus is that we need to stop wallowing in self pity 'So exit the Fall' And that we should not worry about things that we've done or things that have happened, cause in Jesus all things are made new 'And now it's over' Also I've interpreted a mention of the clean heart (metaphorically speaking) that Jesus gives us and that we will learn to accept cleansing from Jesus, not sulk in doubt and guilt 'You're learning It's all before your heart' Then it seems to talk about Jesus being an escape from the lonely pains of life. Not to say with Jesus no pain, Just no LONELY pain. Jesus is always with us, we shouldn't be afraid, this is refracted in the female verse 'I found a way out Through everything I've known I'm walking fearless With my faith down and all that I own Don't take my picture Cause I won't be there standing alone I'm living fearless, so fearless Like every day's my own' Basically the song is about freedom and comfort in Jesus. However when Trevor McNevan sings he seems to be talking about the seemingly undecidable decisions in life. To sin or not to sin, So many reasons to sin. But there will always be one everlasting reason not to. That's what I've interpreted from the song. |

| I think as opposed to 'a vate' maybe it says of eight and when the female is singing I think it says 'with my fate down' due to the fact this is a christian band and faith ought never to be put down. | |
