also, i wanted to add, the beginning.. "I cannot disguise, All the stomach pains, And the walking of the canes, When you, do come out, And you whisper up to me In your life of tragedy," when you do heroin, your body becomes dependant on it after continuous use, causing extreme withdrawals symptom, which include excruciating pains (stomach, everywhere basically..ha) and it feeels as though you can't walk without a cane. i couldn't walk for weeks when i quit my addiction. k. have a good day. |

i recently went to treatment for heroin addiction, and i agree with the others about this song being about heroin addiction-addictions in theirselves also i suppose. if anyone has been addicted to heroin, it's such a consuming and disgustful cycle that you feel as though you'll never be free, you'd see the metaphoric resemblance in this song. foo shoo! also; "I cannot deny, All the evil traits, And the filling of the crates, When you, do come out, And you slither up to me In your pimpin majesty" i believe this part is about smuggling/manufacturing of heroin.. it is an evil drug, and filling of the crates with heroin to be shipped and delivered into the country, etc.."when you slither up to me in your pimpin majesty", heroin has always been displayed as a "glamourous" drug. (drug of rockstars, etc. etc.). eh, just my input. loveeeeeeee systemofadown. |

this song means so much to me, and when i was little i never knew what it meant until recently. the past 3 years i was addicted to heroin, iv use. recently i've gone to treatment and finally i'm sober, but..this is a song about heroin addiction... ahem..first off, the boiling noise in the beginning, "slip some, boil away..".. you cook up heroin before you shoot it.. assuming that many of you don't know what heroin addiction is like, it's one of the most addicting substances there is (opiates) because of the withdrawals... so.. "in the middle of the a worm on a fish hook.. you're the wave"... you want to kick it but it swallows your entire soul. yeah. |
