| I think it's just Jerry falling in love with someone he shouldn't be with. "'Promise that you won't fall for me.' What's that?" She even tells him to not get to close to her 'cause she knows it'll end badly but he does it anyways. By doing this, he says "It's just like me to let me destroy myself" because he knew what he was getting into. Near the end of the song, he still is happy that they met and shared feelings for each other, even if he's hurt this much. | |

| I think that it's about a guy who was recently in a failing relationship. After getting out of it, there's a part of him that really wants to try and see what can happen and there's another part that hates all the times he was lonely, every time she didn't pick up the phone, how they barely were together. "There's no sense in me saying 'I guess I still miss you'" and there's the part that wants it. He knows it's stupid to think this, to continue having feelings for her but he just can't stop it. "I hope someday soon maybe we'll finish this chapter (I can't ever finish this chapter)" is basically him saying that he wants to pick this up sometime and then right away, he realizes that there's no point and no possible way to finish it. "What else should we do? When talking is for functioning people." It's just him trying to make a solution to this. Talking is something they aren't capable of and he's trying to find another way. And besides the stuff that doesn't make sense, it's basically the same. | |

Well, like everyone else, this song has so much meaning to me. My girlfriend, her last boyfriend died tragically, and she's uncomfortable just being in a relationship. I really do like her and I want to be with her but she just is scared. "And something's somewhere's got to give As sharing this relationship get's older, older" -I've been waiting, doing whatever I can and when she's ready, she'll tell me she's ready but it's taking so long. This relationship is going nowhere. "You know i'd fight for you but how can I fight someone who isn't even there" -Her last boyfriend is already dead but she's still so attached to him. It's been over two years now. I know that him dying so suddenly meant that he'll always be with her 'cause the relationship never ended but I don't know.. "I've had the rest of you, now I want the best of you" "Cause I want it all or nothing at all" -Basically, she's not trying hard enough to make this work. She does try but I'm sure there's a part of her that's holding back. I just want her to give everything. And so on. I love this song. I can totally relate. |

This girl I like told me that she's uncomfortable dating and that we wouldn't be going anywhere because of her last relationship (her last boyfriend died tragically), but I still really like her and want to be with her. I hope that she's home so that she can pick up the phone and we can talk, I just want to talk things out. Everytime I'm by her, everything's okay. |

| I completely disagree. This song is unlike most mainstream rap and the lyrics are decent. They don't talk about, y'know, the cliché stuff rappers usually talk about like their bitches, their money, their consumption of illegal narcotics and so on. | |

I really love this band. I'd just like to ask if anyone knows what the album cover means? It's driving me crazy not knowing. I'm assuming it has to do something with conflict (note the blindfold and dark background). The orb in her hands has do to something with peace or harmony I guess since it's a relatively bright sky. So a symbol of peace within a setting of violence and conflict. Anyone else have insight on this? |
