http://www.imdb.com/title/tt0073298/ Looks like it's based on a movie...maybe his wife introduced him to it (Sofia Coppola).

there isn't any heroin called 'gold lion'...and you don't see any crazy lights when you're on heroin...stop mixing your drug experiences, junkies.

Peaches – AA XXX Lyrics 17 years ago
wow...i never thought there would be this much debate over this song.

since she says "I'M only double A"...she's probably talking about bra size...and ah, bicyclethieff, plenty of grown women have AAs...we just wear push-ups, k?

"i like the innocent type" refers to the kind of MEN she wants, hence the following lines about "flexing HIS might." most of Peaches songs are about her sexual exploits of men (or fantasies of sexual exploits)...hence why so many feminists love her.

btw, whoever typed out these lyrics was kind of bad at it.

The Cure – The Lovecats Lyrics 17 years ago
i've noticed a lot of people who post on this site in general think a lot of different songs are about suicide. what is up with that?

couldn't "into the sea, you and me" simply mean they're going for a swim? or maybe it means they set sail together for a long time, maybe to travel the world, and no one knows where they are.

'how could we miss someone as dumb as this" could be a poke at himself for writing a sappy, crowd-pleasing love song...could be a poke at the people who like the sappy, crowd-pleasing love song...or maybe it's about returning from a trip w/ a lover to society which is more often than not full of dumb people.

Tori Amos – Apollo's Frock Lyrics 17 years ago
apollo is the ancient greek sun god. his twin sister was artemis, the goddess of the moon. she was also known as a great huntress and watched over wildlife (which explains all the hunting references in the song).

frock is an old-fashioned word for a dress.

so i think this song is addressing the dichotomy between male & female archetypes. this idea that the sung god might wear a dress & moreover would need to be reassured that he was as beautiful as his sister (sibling rivalry?). there are shades of Neil Gaiman's writing style in this as well...the personification of ancient gods & goddesses in a modern setting ("our old meeting place in an L.A. cafe).

Tori Amos – Bug a Martini Lyrics 17 years ago
i always thought it was about watching old spy movies...like James Bond type stuff...there's generally a lot of murder, etc. in them which may be why she references death so much in the song.
