10 Years – Scream At The Walls Lyrics | 15 years ago |
How can there not be more people commenting on the meaning of this song? I love it, and while I don't know it's meaning, it seems very powerful to me. Come on people, put up your opinions. |
Frou Frou – Psychobabble Lyrics | 16 years ago |
This song feels to me like it is about suicidal thoughts. I'll break it down to show why I think that. (This is my first time doing this, so I hope you can all understand what I am saying.) “How did you get this number? I can't get my head around you Of course you're not coming over Snap out of it You're not making any sense” This, to me is saying that the singer is having suicidal thoughts, and won’t admit it. She’s talking to the person that is trying to help her, but when he/she tries to make a point, the singer just denies it, and says that they aren’t making any sense. I think that “number” is really meaning thought. As in, the suicidal thoughts. “You couldn't be more wrong, darling I never gave out these signs You misunderstand all meaning Snap out of it I'm not falling for this one” This is going back to the denial theory, where the singer is saying that the person trying to help her is just wrong, and she isn’t having any suicidal thoughts, and never gave any signs to make anyone think that. Then is saying to come back to reality, because she isn’t having those thoughts. Then is accusing the person trying to help her of trying to trick her into admitting she is having those thoughts. “If love is surrender Then whose war is it anyway?” This makes me think that the suicidal thoughts are about a love, and she is wondering what the point to love is anymore. “Do just what I tell you And no one will get hurt Don't come any closer Cause I don't know how long I can hold my heart in two” This seems to be after the signer has admitted to having those thoughts, but is threatening to kill herself. Saying that the person who is trying to help has to do exactly as she says, or she will kill herself, because she doesn’t know how long she can keep from killing herself, with her heart broken so badly. “If you think that it's so damn easy Then what do you need me for? Just look at the state of you Babe, snap out of it You're not listening to this” This is the signer asking the person if they think heartbreak is so easy to get through, and then asking why the person trying to help even wants her around. Then says that the person trying to help has their own problems to deal with, and needs to deal with those, and not her problems. I think the person she is talking to then tried to say that they care about her, and she says to snap out of it, and they aren’t listening to what she is saying. “And just for once could you Let me finish my sentence?” This comes back to the not listening thing, with the signer saying that the person trying to help needs to listen, and stop interrupting her with things to try and help her. “Make no sudden movements And no one will get hurt You're not coming over If you know what's good for me Why would I be leaving you?” This is the singer saying not to do anything hasty (such as tell someone about her thoughts, or try to stop her), or she will kill herself. She then again tells the person not to come over. And then says that they don’t know what is good for her, otherwise they could have helped, and she wouldn’t be ready to kill herself, or “leave” them. “Now, I've had it up to here Don't ever try that again Why are you so quiet so suddenly? Go on, have it You're just dying to try me” This part seems to be saying that the person tried to help her again, and the singer got angry, saying not to ever try that again. And then wonders why they stopped talking to her. So she says to just keep being quiet, and not try to help her, because they obviously want to see how serious she is about killing herself. “So, what do we do now? What do we do now? What do we do now? What do we do now?” I think this is the singer asking what to do to help herself, because she has had a revelation and wants to help herself, but doesn’t know how. |
The All-American Rejects – Can't Take It Lyrics | 16 years ago |
This song may be about a relationship, but it is different for me. For me, it is more about someone who helps their friends, all the time. No matter what. But, that person then just loses it and gives up on one of his friends, completely. This song inspires me in that sense, because I always help my friends, no matter what happens to me in the process. And I will never give up on them. When I one of my friends is having a problem, I turn on this song, and vow never to be like the way the guy acts in the song. |

peewagon... that was just unneeded... whether it was meant that way or not, it sounds totally racist. and a lot of the things you say could be about white, or ANY ethnicity. Also, even if that was meant to actually portray some meaning, it doesn't. it takes everything litterally, when the song obviously uses a lot of metaphores or similies. just don't try to figure out the meaning of a song if you can't even look farther than racist veiws. |

i agree with InToThEaIrWaVeS7-11. He has a point on "listening to to music just for the music". I like looking for meanings in songs as much as the next guy, but I only do it after i'm done listening to the MUSIC. This song kicks ass and i don't think many people can say otherwise. people seem to forget about the music sometimes. To me, 3/4ths of a song is the music and not the lyrics. Remember techno? Or orchestrated? listen to those and you'll know what i'm talking about. |

Why has noone said anything on this? Yes, too many people do things like this, but that's just because of the sadness of stuff that happened... |
