it really really really get on my nerve that some users always (and really always) say "this song is about drugs, and this one and this one" its fucking bullshit! some elliott smith song are about drugs, and yes elliott was a drug consumer (or a junkie) at the time of either/or and figure 8 but I cant imagine that he always sang about druks. this one is IMHO clearly not about drug using. its about the fact that a person bzw. the singer feels very well and got more self esteem when he's in a relationship with a girl. very beautiful song. |

I agree totally with countxtoxthree. its about a one side friendship. you gave a lot to your friends, but you're still waiting for some payback, also you know deep insde it won't come, that payback. things like being there for somebody whos in a bad mood. typical signs which are the basics for a good friendship. A very sad song thought. very emotional. |
