Driiive to woOoOORK....

they're so fucking off beat

ooooh GASP ooooooooooooh
DRIVE TO WOOOORK

I do this stuck in traffic.
Not those words exactly (buy this car to drive to work drive to work to pay for this car) but you KNOW I was thinking it.
My sister and I. The oohing and the breathing and temporary insanity. Uh huh. Nail on head (coffin)

handshakes at the ranch.
ha ha.

Metric – The Twist Lyrics 16 years ago
Somebody put me back in school i forget everything i used to know how to leave the boy behind without having to watch him go

easy as pie.
she's used to leaving the boy on the bed, watching her get dressed, watching her slip out the door. shifting positions, she's left on the bed, the night lingering for her what he's already showered off, she watches him leave.

I don't know where any of the more angry interpretations come from...I don't get a hint of angriness in this song. I get bewilderment and shock in the beginning, but also a sense of 'Yeah, but I knew it was coming'. As she's shaking the shock off she's getting hit by the reality of it and of what that means for her future. It hurts at first but after a while she begins to get used to it; and as you get into the refrain you can see that she's regaining control and her sense of self; albeit she might not be prepared for a new relationship any time soon. She's currently more comfortable being semi-safe and single. It's got a calm, soothing vibe of acceptance.
