Live – Turn My Head Lyrics

When I was in middle school or thereabouts I heard that this song was inspired by either an old Hindi story or legend about a woman (a princess, I think) who was executed and the singer's POV was from a man who could have saved her but didn't.
But yeah it's probably just a love song for his girlfriend. |

When I was younger (like waaay back in the '90s) I heard this song was about a queen or princess, from the perspective of a man who was in love with her and witnessed her being killed or raped or something. Apparently it's actually a love song? Cool, I like that better than the interpretation I heard. |

I don't necessarily think this song deals with a relationship or an obsession with an underage girl.
I think it could deal with the death of a specific person or mortality in general. |

all I know about this song is that it freaked me out when I was a kid. It always had a dark, Grimm-esque fairytale quality to me. |

The very beginning of this song reminds me of "San Francisco (Be Sure to Wear Flowers in Your Hair)". |

in addition to the Hamlet reference, the lyrics //please pose my skeletal remains / give them a working pen / and I will live forever / please let them love me though I fade// are thematically similar to some of Shakespeare's sonnets, which talk about achieving eternality through his (Shakespeare's) writing. |

Jordin Sparks – Virginia is for lovers Lyrics

i totes think she wrote this song about chris richardson from season 6 of american idol. the most obvious evidence is the title (richardson is from virginia) and the fact the guy she's singing to has green eyes (richardson does too). |

I think that she's singing to her audience about her song(s). The so-called 'clichéd' lines have a different meaning when you look at it like that. You could look at it like a 'love song' to her audience in that context. I think her persona in the song could even be the song / her work itself. |

This song kind of makes me think of the novel "Wuthering Heights", and the characters Heathcliff and Catherine for some reason. Particularly [You're doing my head in / And I can't change] |
