Marilyn Manson – Dope Hat Lyrics 6 years ago
@[wayne:23507]* I recently saw a You Tube video by one of his fans who mentioned his desire to become the anti-Christ. As someone who believes that there will be an anti-Christ, I also believe it is highly unlikely that it will be Marilyn Manson. Here is why: Anti is a Greek prefix which has two meanings. In a book by Christian author Dave Hunt (who passed away in 2013), he explained it like this...

“The prefix “anti” comes from the Greek language and has two meanings: 1) opposed to, and 2) in the place of or a substitute for [See Strong’s Exhaustive Concordance, Greek Dictionary of the New Testament, p. 12; Webster’s New Universal Unabridged Dictionary, p. 2035.]. Antichrist will embody both of these meanings. He will indeed oppose Christ, but in the most diabolically clever way it could be done: by pretending to be Christ and thus perverting “Christianity” from within. Indeed, Antichrist will “sit in the temple of God showing himself that he is God” (2 Thessalonians 2:4). If Antichrist pretends to be Christ and is worshiped by the world (Revelation 13:8), then his followers are of course “Christians”. Not Communism but Christianity will take over the world, and not the real Christianity but an Antichrist counterfeit therof. Thus the great apostasy precedes the revelation of Antichrist (2 Thessalonians 2:3). Part of the apostasy is the ecumenical movement, which is literally setting the stage for a union between all religions and even influences evangelicals as well. An Antichrist “Christianity” must be created which embraces all religions and which all religions will embrace – precisely what is occurring today with astonishing speed" (Dave Hunt, A Women Rides the Beast, Pages 44-45).

I don't have a hard time believing this when I take a look at the state of the professing church today. Even though I don't endorse Marilyn Manson, I see some of the hypocrisy in the professing church that he takes issue with. Much of what passes as "Christianity" in the west has little to do with what Christ actually taught, but is based more on psychology, postmodernism or a mixture of both. On top of that, there is a false theology in the professing church known as king dominionism, which promotes the false idea that Christians are supposed to take over the world. If that is not a setup for "Christians" to follow the Anti-Christ while believing that they are following the true Christ, then I don't know what is. Sad. It looks like the singer for this band does not understand that saving yourself is not the point of Christianity....

"For by grace you have been saved through faith, and that not of yourselves; it is the gift of God, not of works, lest anyone should boast (Ephesians 2:8-9).

"gone done is a colloquial term heard in the southern states, where trump supporters coincidentally tend to populate".

Well Trump won in some of the northern states that were previously blue, so that should tell you something. Even the hilarious recount in Michigan uncovered some of the voter fraud that the left is so well known for. Not even cheating was enough for them in some of the states where they have commonly won in the past.

Nine Inch Nails – Copy of A Lyrics 10 years ago
"We are products(copys) of our experiences and world around us".

I think that message is true to some extent, but I also think that every single thing we do cannot be blamed on our environment (although much of psychology encourages that idea). There are some people who were raised in an abusive environment, and used that as an excuse to abuse others. But there also some people that were raised in an abusive environment who turned out just fine. In spite of some of the bogus theories of psychology, we do make choices that we (not merely our environment) should be held accountable for.

Skillet – Alien Youth Lyrics 10 years ago
I also believe the word "aliens" in this song refers to Christians. The part that says "we're takin' over the world" makes me wonder if the song has to do with kingdom/dominion theology. I don't know if the singer for this band had kingdom/dominion theology on his mind when he wrote that song, so I am not saying that is what it is about for sure. And I don't know enough about this band to say that it is. But I do wonder about that, partly because kingdom/dominion theology is so popular these days, even among well meaning believers. If anyone is not familiar with that theology, I would recommend checking out the following two articles to see what I am talking about....

http://www.thebereancall.org/node/5938

http://www.thebereancall.org/node/5939

From what I have seen, kingdom/dominion theology has lead some non-believers to conclude that Christians only have a political agenda to take over the world, but no real concern for anyone's souls. So that is one of the main reasons that it concerns me. I believe that it is one of the reasons that hostility towards Christians has been increasing. But like I said, I am not sure if this song has to do with that theology or not. And I do believe that many who are into kingdom/dominion theology mean well, but are simply mislead.

I believe that because verses like 2 Timothy 3:1-5 make it clear that things will get worse in the last days, not better - And that is exactly what I see happening. Also, Jesus asked the question “when the Son of Man cometh, shall He find faith on the earth?” (Luke 18:8) From the condition that the world is in today, it is obvious to me that the answer to that question is that there will be very little faith on the earth when He comes.

So I do not see Christians taking over the world, nor are we supposed to. The culture cannot be redeemed, although that is the goal of many who are into kingdom/dominion theology. But souls can be redeemed, and I simply believe that our main focus should be on leading souls to Christ rather than trying to redeem a culture.

I am a former Nine Inch Nails fan. I have listened to this song more times than I can remember because I once felt that I could identify with it so well. Frankly, I now believe that no one can be an honest atheist. Hopefully the following article that I wrote on my site will shed some light on the subject....

http://jdlarsenmn.tripod.com/response.htm

You can copy paste that address into your address bar to see the article. Some people are hard to completely figure out. However, from the info that is given in the video expose that I shared in part of that article, it appears that Trent Reznor is really more of a Satanist than an atheist.

There may be some professing Satanists who don't actually believe Satan to be real. However, the info given in this next article that I will share shows a quote from Susan Atkins about Anton LaVey (the founder of the Satanic church) which states that “Anton told me that as a Satanist he does believe in the God of the bible but he refused to worship Him and made a conscious decision to worship Satan instead.” Here is the article....

Just food for thought. I also want to mention that there appears to be a lot more Satanists today then many people realize.

Marilyn Manson – Hey, Cruel World... Lyrics 12 years ago
Marilyn Manson believes himself to be a non-conformist, yet he seems clueless about the fact that the Bible itself promotes non-conformity: "Do not be conformed to this world, but be transformed by the renewing of your mind..." (Romans 12:2).

However, I can understand where he is coming from to some extent since many who claim to be Christians today do not believe the Bible. Sadly, there are a lot of misrepresentations of Christianity in our day, just as 2 Timothy 4:3-4 and 2 Peter 2:1-3 both predicted. I do not hate Marilyn Manson, but I just feel sorry for him.

System of a Down – Suite-Pee Lyrics 12 years ago
Catholicism is NOT Christianity, but I can understand why people would think that when I consider the ecumenical movement in our day, which has confused a lot of people. Many people who call themselves "Christians" today are further from biblical Christianity than they realize, and they are simply following a new Christianity that was never taught in the Bible. In fact, much of what is falsely called "Christianity" today is nothing more than paganism in disguise. So I can also understand why many would see Christians as unloving since many who claim to be Christians are not truly following Christ. However, BIBLICAL Christianity teaches that it is "not by works of righteousness which we have done, but according to [God's] mercy He saved us..." (Titus 3:5).

On the other hand, Catholics believe that they are saved by good deeds, just as Mormons. Not so with biblical Christianity, which teaches, "by the deeds of the law no flesh shall be justified in [God's] sight, for by the law is the knowledge of sin" (Romans 3:20). Yet many who claim to be Christians are not grasping this, and that would explain why many of them are unloving. It is because they are trusting in their own "righteousness" (which Isaiah 64:6 describes as being "like filthy rags") rather than the righteousness of God.

I am not trying to cram my beliefs down anyone's throat, but I just wanted to clear this up since their are so many misunderstandings about what Christianity is. I have explained it in more detail in the following two articles on my website....

http://jdlarsenmn.tripod.com/gift.htm

http://jdlarsenmn.tripod.com/gift_2.htm

So anyone who is interested can check them out by copy pasting those two addresses into their address bar. In 2 Timothy 4:3-4, the Bible itself warned of a time when those who claim to be Christians would not endure sound doctrine, but would embrace doctrine according to their own desires - And that is exactly what we are seeing today. So I mainly wanted to make the point that someone is not a Christian just because they claim to be. But honestly, I am not trying to push this on anyone. People are free to believe what they want, but I just wanted to try to clear up some misunderstandings.

Tool – Jambi Lyrics 12 years ago
If more people were thinking for themselves, than they might realize that TRUE Christianity is not a religion at all, but a relationship with God, which is something that every man made religion lacks.

"Why can't people believe certain parts of the bible, but not all of it?"

They can if they want to, but it makes more sense to believe all of it if every part of it is inspired by God, as the passage in 2 Timothy 3:16-17 claims that it is. I realize that people may not be convinced that the Bible is inspired by God merely by the fact that it claims to be, and that is understandable. But anyone who is interested can find plenty of proof of the Bible's divine inspiration through the following two web site pages....

http://www.understandthetimes.org/101scientific.shtml

http://www.understandthetimes.org/101prophecy.shtml

You said, "people need their own views an interpretations".

According to Genesis 40:8, interpretations belong to God. As I said, people can believe only certain parts of the Bible if they want to, and I am not going to try to cram my beliefs down anyone's throat....but I do find it mind boggling that many people today seem to think that God has no views of his own, and those who dare to suggest that He does are bitterly scorned as demented fundamentalists who are out to control everyone.

To suggest that God has views of His own is hardly attempting to control people (which many people seem to think it is), but it is simply pointing to a source of interpretation that is greater than ourselves.

System of a Down – Suite-Pee Lyrics 12 years ago
First of all, anyone who goes around killing people are not true Christians since they are not following Christ's example. That is rather simple. People can make whatever excuses they want, but the truth is that Christianity goes against man's pride and human carnal nature, and THAT is the real issue! That is why Jesus Himself made it clear (in John 15:18-21) that his true followers would be hated and persecuted by the world. Oddly, those who are hostile towards Christians are often some of the best at proving Christianity to be true, although they do so unwittingly. I have explained that in more detail in the following article that I wrote on my site....

http://jdlarsenmn.tripod.com/unwittingly_proving.htm

Anyone who is interested can copy paste the above address into their address bar to see the article. It is titled "Unwittingly Proving The Bible To Be True".

I used to listen to some bands with anti-Christian themes before I was a Christian myself, including Nine Inch Nails, Marilyn Manson and Fear Factory. I see hostility towards Christians these days all over the place, in music, movies and even some video games. Hostility towards Christians has anyways been around, but it is increasing today like never before, and even seems to have become a world wide obsession at this point. Yet many of those who show this hostility are just fulfilling what the Bible itself predicted, as I explained in the article that I posted here.

I can remember a time during the 90's when Jon Davis was asked in an interview on MTV what he thinks about Bill Clinton, and he responded by saying "I think the president is awesome". So that seems to imply that he was a liberal during that time anyway. However, I recently saw him in an interview on You Tube which made it clear that this song is about Obama. Brian Head Welch – Die Religion Die Lyrics 12 years ago
I agree that "religion is man-made", as the song says. However, so many people who do not really seem to have a relationship with God are calling themselves "spiritual but not religious", all while looking down on the ones who truly do have a relationship with God as the ones who are "religious". This is something that the new agers and apostate, post-modern "Christians" do very often. When they refer to "religion", they apparently mean doctrine - even though the Bible, which is not a religious book, has clearly stated that "All Scripture is given by inspiration of God, and is profitable for DOCTRINE, for reproof, for correction, for instruction in righteousness, that the man of God may be complete, thoroughly equipped for every good work" (2 Timothy 3:16-17).

Sadly, many in our day who take pride in "not following religion" are often the ones who are under the bondage of religion themselves without even realizing it. The fact that many of them look down on those who have a true relationship with God (with a contempt that sometimes verges on rage!) is proof that they themselves do not have that relationship.

Brian Head Welch – Shake Lyrics 12 years ago
I agree that God's judgment will come, but I also think that we have be careful not to label every natural disaster as a judgment from God. Some of the natural disasters that have already occurred have been labeled as "God's judgment". However, it does not make too much sense for people to say that when there are CHRISTIANS being killed in some of these disasters, of whom the Bible says "God did not appoint us to wrath" (1 Thessalonians 5:9). As I said, I do believe that God's judgment will come, and anyone who would like a confirmation of that can check out the following radio series on my website....

http://jdlarsenmn.tripod.com/judgment_radio.htm

However, I don't think we should speak of natural disasters as God's judgment unless they are occurring during the tribulation period since those are the coming disasters which the Bible has clearly described as judgment from God. Otherwise we are just speculating, and that is not helpful for the cause of Christ.

Anyway, I found it odd how part of this song says, "just follow your heart" when the Bible clearly states that "the heart is deceitful above all things, and desperately wicked; who can know it? I, the LORD, search the heart, I test the mind, even to give every man according to his ways, according to the fruit of his doings" (Jeremiah 17:9-10).

The fact that people are ALREADY following their hearts rather than seeking God is why his judgment will come in the first place, but the humanistic thinking that is rampant within the professing church in our day is just a reflection of the end times apostasy that is foretold in the Bible. Anyone who would like some info on that subject can check out the following article titled "Revival or Apostasy?"

http://www.thebereancall.org/node/5823

We are indeed headed for God's judgment. And sadly, it is also going to come on many who believe that they are Christians.

There are some metal bands that claim to be Christian (like Zao, and Living Sacrifice), but I have not come across any of them who really seem to understand Christianity. Most of the metal bands that I have come across are either satanists, atheists, false Christians or buddhists.

That statement is exactly how I would describe those who are spreading global warming propaganda, but I am sure that is not what Fear Factory had on their minds. I used to listen to this band during the 90's, and the alledged "controlling authorites" that they are referring to is most likely those who are spreading the truth about all the corruption going on in America.

Marilyn Manson – We're From America Lyrics 15 years ago
God is an excuse? It seems to me like Manson tries to make an awful lot of excuses to reject God, but Romans 1:20 tells us that he is without excuse because of the evidence all around him.

Do you think it is by chance that our tast buds ended up in our mouths rather than some inconvenient place on our body? And do you think it is by chance that our eyes ended up on our face rather than some inconvenient place on our body? Everything does not fall into the right place by chance, but it was obviously designed that way.

Everyone knows that God exists whether they want to admit it or not. The real issue is that people simply don't like what He says, so they try to make excuses to reject Him.

In John 15:18-21, Jesus Himself made it clear that the world would hate Christians just as they have hated Him. So those who are the most hostile toward Christians are often the ones who unwittingly prove Christianity to be true. I have decided to post these comments knowing that I will most likely be hated for what I am posting here, but that will only prove Jesus' words to be true. It seems like those who are opposed to Christianity are sometimes better at proving it to be true than even some professing Christians in our day.

Marilyn Manson – Irresponsible Hate Anthem Lyrics 17 years ago
As I Christian, I am grieved at all the hatred that I have seen directed toward Marilyn Manson by many who claim to be Christians. When I consider such hypocrisy, it is no wonder that hostility toward Christians is increasing. But....

The Bible itself said that "the time will come when they will not endure sound doctrine, but according to their own desires, because they have itching ears, they will heap up for themselves teachers; and they will turn their ears away from the truth, and be turned aside to fables" (2 Timothy 4:3-4).

I believe that much of the hypocrisy taking place in the name of Christianity is simply a reflection of this prophecy coming to pass. But God is not to blame. And just because someone claims to be a Christian does not mean that they are.

That said, I want to make it clear that I have no hatred in my heart for Marilyn Manson or his fans, and I used to be one of his fans myself. However, out of concern, I do feel that it is important for people realize what he is REALLY all about.

Although many have tried to justify him by saying things like "it's all an act" or "your misunderstanding what he's all about", many have not considered much of what has been going on behind the scenes....

For those who are willing to listen, the following is an address to a very thorough article which cuts through Manson's double talk and exposes what he is REALLY all about:
