This song is just so lovely.. I definitely see it as a wedding song.. or even an engagement song - my friends and I talk about how we want to be proposed to, and I always thought via song(preferrably serenade haha ^_^) would be beautiful, so when I listened to the lyrics of this song I was on the verge of tears. I feel like "baiting morn" can go with that idea.. it may be silly, but he's putting himself out there, putting out the "bate", so she takes it and she'll be his("And this is the day I make you mine"). That's just my own little interpretation that makes sense with the rest of the song for me. |

I love this song. I keep commenting on songs from this album, but I'm loving and loving them more and more. This song is like a breath of fresh air... I've had a lot of emotional and self esteem issues,. and I listen to this song when I need a little reminder to be myself and let the little things go. | well my friend sent this to me, because interpreted "picking up trash in dresses" completely different.. she though more along the lines of what happens to me.. I'll be dressed up and all beautiful, but the only guys I can pick up is trash.. bad, immature, trashy guys... so taking that view point, I want this song to be about me. | I love this song.. to me the tounge in the mirror part is about taking life and certain things too seriously.. spending too much time thinking about petty things. For some reason my mind associates the term "bending over backwards" with going out of your way for other people, so I always think it implies caring what other people think trying to see yourself "clearer" from their eyes.. but sometimes stuff happens and you just have to joke about it instead of getting upset. Taking yourself too seriousy(vanity) gets in the way, and no matter what you do people will see you for your or who you really are(our virtue). | |

This song screams Twilight to me! I can just pick out so many moments where I'm like "Edward's feelings... Bella's thoughts... both of them" And it makes me love the song that much more!! In addition to that, my interpretation - and I think that there are many ways to look at it - is about discovering love.. it's scary, especially if you've been hurt. Maybe it's about a person in a relationship realizing that they're in deeper than they've ever been before... they lose track of place and time - but just throw themselves into the relationship and hope for the best. |

I love this song. I've always had a place in my heart for it, but this past year was my freshman year at college, and especially my first semester I started changing myself - to impress a boy, to impress the upperclassmen - changing myself to what I thought would help me get what I want. I was upset and alone in my dorm one day and this song came on the playlist and I cried and cried. To me, this song is about a child who wants so much, and is rushing and trying to change everything to get everything she wants. She has big dreams, and she wants them all realzed now. The narrorator is reminding her that she can't make these things happen.. her dreams, her Vienna, waits for her. It may sound silly but this song has leveled me out on many occasions when I probably was about to do something stupid. Or even whenever I'm frustrated with living in a small town or not being able or old enough to do something - it reminds me that I'm 19 and that I have a lot of time to get to my Vienna. |

I'm iffy on some of the lyrics... I thought she was saying "....from a rainy day with my loved ones" not "with my lovers"... it makes sense because she is talking about her family. To me this song seems to be about having time with her family. It's just a normal rainy day, her family is all just doing normal things at home. And she misses this when she is three thousand miles away, so when it's raining, she wants it to keep raining so her family can stay like that. Maybe that's just me being homesick.. :) |

This song reminds me of when I was little.. my mom would play her old records in our living room and she, my sister, and I would dance around :) It's about being yourself. Letting your hair down - getting rid of pretenses and worries and just being happy. Enjoying the little things and not taking life so seriously. |

I don't think you can pinpoint one addiction or mistake that "Chocolate" represents. For me the whole song is about growing up, making mistakes, and change. It reflects human nature in general. There are many pivotal moments in life where you feel alive, good and bad, and they make you question your life and make you discover this person behind the name given to you at birth.. even at age 25 Whatever the awakening is, we want to change from it. But honestly, we learn, but we doesn't and can't completely regret what made us happy in the past... which is completely relatable. Putting your love in one thing is a very scary, risky thing. But being shot down, put on your knees sometimes puts things in perspective... but sometimes no matter how hard we try or how much we think we have it we still can't figure it out. You can't change the past, but you can try to change yourself and the future.... and the last two lines are just beautiful - simple mistakes trigger much larger things, but no matter hard times we go through we'll do anything for the people we love. I love it! |
