Los Campesinos! – Knee Deep at ATP Lyrics | 13 years ago |
Haha, I read High Fidelity fairly recently and it totally reminded me of this song too when it's mentioned in the book. Intentional? Highly possible. Great song and great festival. |

Patrick Wolf – Hard Times Lyrics | 15 years ago |
Correct lyrics: As they Dig your ditches Count my stitches Generation justice Wishes for World at war Final score Media come and abhor us These Our hard times But we'll work harder, harder Give me hard times And I'll work harder, harder Divided nation In sedation Overload of information That we have grown up To ignore... Mediocrity applauded Through these hard times We'll work harder Give me hard times And I'll work harder, harder For revolution Show me some Resolution And this Battle will be won Forced to count the hours Since two towers Fell to fiction those higher powers Putting gods to war Who keeps score? Ignorance is still adored All through these hard times We'll work harder, harder Give me hard times And I'll work harder harder For revolution Show me some revolution This battle will be won If they only see you with their fear And they only hear you with their pride Then work harder Harder |

Thank you jofwu, I understand this song a lot more now! The whole "You have to let the fire consume you to truly experience it." thing. Cheers! |

I am thoroughly confused by this song. Obviously Aaron is very religious, and with most of the songs on the album this is clear. However, this one is different. The song tells of how the King Beetle sacrifices his life in the name of God due to what he believed to be a sign from God...but it wasn't a sign from God at all, it was just the day-help burning leaves. The last line, "why not be utterly changed into fire?" to me seems almost sarcastic - "yeah, sure, why not sacrifice yourself for this so-called God because of some burning leaves you thought was a sign?" I'd be interested to hear a more pro-Christian response (which presumably was how Aaron meant it to be interpreted). |

Los Campesinos! – This is how you spell "HAHAHA I've destroyed the hopes and dreams of a generation of faux-romantics" Lyrics | 16 years ago |
I love the talking bits. They're so amazing, the bit about translating goosebumps from braille. |
The Wombats – Kill The Director Lyrics | 16 years ago |
I've seen them live 3 times and he's said it's about the film "The Holiday" twice, I dunno if it's a joke though, if it is then Murph overuses it haha |
The Cribs – Be Safe Lyrics | 17 years ago |
This has got to be my favourite from the album, and it definitely shows their improvement. This song live would probably complete my life. |
James – One of the Three Lyrics | 17 years ago |
This is a great song, questioning Jesus. Maybe that makes me appreciate it more as I'm an atheist... |
