Haddaway – What Is Love? Lyrics | 13 years ago |
this song makes me think of P.K. Subban, a black rookie NHL hockey player because of this vid: http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=EteYiH1WCOk |

The Mars Volta – Day Of The Baphomets Lyrics | 15 years ago |
Excellent auxillary percussion solo. Interesting theme that he wraps around for it and wonderful tintinnabulation throughout the piece driving a previously unheard of musical atmosphere from TMV. I wonder if that is actually Marcel Rodriguez-Lopez or another percussionist. I enjoy Marcel the most from the group live. |

At least Johnny Goodness has the balls to question what everyone else is doing (the same, I might add). Then again, I disagree with him and believe that Cedric puts a lot of meaning behind his music, though lyrically obscure. As a sidenote, Frances the Mute is not specifically a boy or a girl born of rape. |
The Mars Volta – Goliath Lyrics | 15 years ago |
This is about Goliath, the album writing process and how he affected it. "that night I remember what you slipped in my glass we came rewinding when I foamed at the mouth while the lights winked at me and now my shape is kept" Cedric remembers when Goliath entered their lives and seemed like a fun thing. The lights winked at him, like a camera, and Goliath knew who he was. "I gotta rid this world of your intentions swap the corpse in a casket" They have to rid the world of Goliath, and bury the Ouija board. Lets look at the second stage of the song more closely. "hold your heavy burden in a pocket full of drink that I’ve drunk spit the remnants in your direction this is the closest to any kingdom that you will come" That burden was transferred from Goliath to the band, and Cedric is spitting it in our direction. They are trying to relieve their curse by transferring it on to us. This is as close to the kingdom of Goliath that we will come. "I’m starting to feel a miscarriage coming on it's numbing a stump clearing in my throat and I just can't lose grip of it she fumigates my mental hygiene I’m all out of pulse but I know you can resuscitate me" The miscarriage was the album that did not want to be born. They can't get the music/lyrics out because hes been interfering. She, I'm assuming Goliath who is interchangeably male or female, is really fucking with them. I'm not sure who's out of pulse and should be resuscitated, Goliath, the Band, another being from the board? I don't know. They've never heard a man speak like this man before, because they've never heard a man speak to them through a Ouija board before. |
The Mars Volta – Agadez Lyrics | 15 years ago |
This song represents getting away from the spirits, namely the all encompassing Goliath, in the Ouija board. "Because I got distance Don’t let it close Gotta let me know You just gotta let me know" They've tried to move away from Goliath by burying the board or putting distance between it and them. "Because Forget which way Is out now" They don't know how to escape the realm they've entered with Goliath in it. "It’s unforgivable It knows that I am visible." Goliath is "it", here. "I’m broken mirrors And useless prayer This lock is healing me You know you came so willingly" Not sure about what he means by mirrors yet, but hes praying to get away from goliath. They buried the board, so the burying would be the "lock". Goliath came willingly to them through the board. "I’m trapped in this cement husk Gotta let me go You just gotta let me go" They're afraid, or petrified of him and want him to leave them alone. Try to interpret the rest of the song this away and see if you agree. I don't really care much for this religion aspect, but thats just me. Agadez was probably said by Goliath to them, and it was relating something he wanted to something in the real world. |
The Mars Volta – Aberinkula Lyrics | 15 years ago |
I believe that this song is structured to what its like to sit down with the board itself. Especially through the final verse, "Goliath, are you recieving? Dismembered, you've arrived." Goliath is a being that first represented him/herself as 3 separate entities that eventually formed into one, named Goliath. The album is meant to transfer its curse to the listener, and by sitting down to this album, the first song puts you in contact with that being. |
Tool – (-) Ions Lyrics | 17 years ago |
the wavey thunder-like sounds in the background through some of the song is a giant piece of metal that is shaken and depending on the intensity at which you shake it, you will get thunder or lightning. It's pretty cool, but nowhere near the real thing in my opinion. |
