when i listen to this song I keep thinking of two employees: Lucretia and the "ordinary guy", stuck at a dead end job and they are expressing how fed up they are with their lives. The "Everyone of you is fired" represents the douchebag boss that threatens to let them go if they mess up one more time. |

it's about gamblers who become hooked because they believe they will eventually win the jackpot, it becomes very hard for them to quit even though they tell themselves they will stop ("Just one minute more, Then I'll walk right through that door")
Notice how the verses and choruses are exactly the same, as if we are in the mind of an addicted gambler who is constantly telling himself/herself over and over that they can win it and call it quits. |

It seems to be about the relationship between the speaker and his girl and all the troubles with the relationship ("wake up to be greeted by an argument again"). The speaker doesn't feel appreciated by his girl or her friends either ("And your friends don't understand your choice of man", "You treat me like a burnt piece of bacon"). "Looking at the front door" is him contemplating leaving her if things don't get better. |

Murder? Marriages? I think all Dylan is narrating is a simple story of a traveler and his brief relationship for this other girl that he meets. As someone said before "tangled up in blue" might refer to the blue sky and how he's always amidst it (from wandering). The song reminds me of Forrest Gump for some reason. |

great song, the lyrics are incredible because they conjure up all these images and it's like you're almost there with the narrator. This should be turned into a short animation or music video or something. One thing I don't get is how the narrator could strand two air-cars at a bridge. Can't the air-cars just fly over the river? |
