Third Day – Your Love Oh Lord Lyrics 16 years ago
Filthy Christians! We all know that the True Path and Way are through the most powerful and glorius Satan! You could be blinded all day by the false light of Heaven, or reign truly and powerfully in Hell, which is where you are headed, because your God no longer cares for you! You will be sent there, and be poked and prodded by by a septor, wielded by me and everyone else who had the sense to bow down to the true Lord in his/her lifetime! Join me and you will be truly free from oppression and torture by your God!

Type O Negative – White Slavery Lyrics 16 years ago
It's about coke addiction. "Restless craving", "The Summer Snow" (it doesn't fucking snow in the summer people), "I rot away", and the Pepsi reference is used as a clever device for wanting to get off coke.

And the title, as well as the next song, give the meaning of the whole song away.

Frank Zappa – Mom & Dad Lyrics 16 years ago
Very moving song. It wasn't about Kent State, but keep in mind there were many other shootings of people who've committed a minor crime in the 60's. If you got caught with drugs, and tried to run, you could have gotten shot. It didn't happen all the time, but there was more than a few cases of it.

Kent State just stood out at the time because it was the killing of protesters in a college, they weren't really doing anything wrong.

Frank Zappa – Who Needs The Peace Corps? Lyrics 16 years ago
...actually, Zappa wasn't fond of the Beatles. Not so much because he hated their music, but mainly their reception.

Sgt. Pepper's was considered "the first concept album", and by some people, the creative apex of the time. This was BS to Zappa, because he had released two "concept albums" in the past, and considered himself and his peers in the business to be eons more creative than the Beatles.

Basically, the whole album is a lash-out on popular culture and the autonomous thought, and isn't specific. But the Beatles were the symbol of 60's pop culture, a thing Zappa despised. If you read some of what he says in interviews and stuff, he was strongly against pop culture. This was not a "tribute", more like a scathing satire.

King Crimson – Happy Family Lyrics 17 years ago
That is correct, the song is about the Beatles.

Judas- Paul McCartney
Jonah- John Lennon
Silas- George Harrison
Rufus- Ringo Starr

Beyond that, the metaphors are unclear to me except for the obvious ones. "Nasty Jonah grew a wife" refers to when Lennon married Yoko Ono, a move McCartney didn't like ("Judas drew his pruning knife").

Nevermore – Dreaming Neon Black Lyrics 17 years ago
This is my favorite song by them. So emotional and powerful. It's about him only being able to see her in his dreams, and at first he's like "get outta my head, bitch!" (on I am the Dog), but then he realizes that's the only place he'll be able to see her, so he starts accepting it and liking it.

I think it also might be about cults, or how the media acts as a cult-like entity.

The Who – 1921 Lyrics 17 years ago
Yeah, some serious continuity issues going on in this album. 1951 would make much more sense. Also acid wasn't popular until the 60's (for the Acid Queen).
