Fourth of July – Long Gone Lyrics | 13 years ago |
Corrected lyrics: So your heart's falling apart Well babe so is your mind And I would try and pick them up And put 'em back inside Through your ears and through your eyes If I could only find the time I can't change what you decide But that can't stop me from trying So I have to say I told you so in the bar room glow that night And I told you that so don't feel bad it's alright Ya see hope's always in sight Can you see him through those trees And if he's lying through his teeth Would you remind him to breathe And if he asks where he should sleep Would you remind him he could always leave And remind yourself that you're no thief And that you never meant to be And then remind your a ghost of a friend Quit whispering in your ear 'Cause I don't know where she's been All I know is she appeared But if she asks where I am tell her I'm long gone, long gone You call that a heartbreaking song She called it another reason to move on She called I haven't known you that long You should call it please string me along You could call it you're right even if you're wrong Just call it I don't know what I want And then call on me 'cause you know I'm always here And I'll tell you why he shaved his head and beard And I don't know where she's been, all I know is she appeared And she's a ghost of a friend, like a ghost she'll disappear But if she asks where my brother is tell her He's long gone, long gone Long gone, long gone Long gone, long gone |
The New Pornographers – Sing Me Spanish Techno Lyrics | 14 years ago |
For months I thought he was saying "Don't you know" instead of "Go to now" I'm still not convinced... |
Stellastarr* – Jenny Lyrics | 14 years ago |
There's a girl *in Woodstock* now. |
Modest Mouse – Education Lyrics | 14 years ago |
That's not what nihilism is you halfwit. Nihilism involves the idea that there is no inherent right or wrong so morality is relative. |
Andrea Bocelli – Vivo Per Lei Lyrics | 15 years ago |
Uhhh.... these lyrics are partially in Italian, partially in French... the hell? Fix it! |
Stellastarr* – Love And Longing Lyrics | 16 years ago |
"I watched a city cry, I thought I lost you in the fall" He's talking about 9/11! He's from NYC, it makes sense. |
The Slip – The Soft Machine Lyrics | 16 years ago |
I can't interpret what "the soft machine" is for the life of me. I shall have to meditate on this. |
The Slip – Paper Birds Lyrics | 16 years ago |
The paper birds are letters. When I hear this song, I weave a story in my head. A man was involved with a woman, they were going to marry, but then something happened and she left him, maybe even at the altar. He still loves her and thinks about her. The paper birds are his love letters that he writes to her, but his landlord is always biringing them back to him because they never reach her. The lady crying is the girls mother. The girl left him (for some reason I think it's because she found out she had cancer, can't remember why I came up with that) and ended up dying alone. So he continues to be sorrowful and write his paper birds, with the kind landlord returning them. He finally opens the returned letters for all to see (and kills himself?) The letters are full of all his memories of her. |
The Slip – Mothwing Bite Lyrics | 16 years ago |
*sighs* Another highly underappreciated band. I think this song is about a guy dating a younger girl. He's a bit corrupted, smokes and drinks and whatnot, and she's pure and simple and playful. she keeps him going. |
Stellastarr* – Stay Entertained Lyrics | 16 years ago |
The singer is parting ways with a friend who is stuck on the past and doesn't like change. She's unenthusiastic and stubborn and callous. She doesn't want to get involved and sort of goes through life waiting for it to end, and so he's wishing her luck staying entertained. |
Stellastarr* – Bloated Wife Lyrics | 16 years ago |
Heh, this is actually my favorite song by them. My favorite living band gets no attention at all, do they T__T. When I'm rich I'm giving the four of them a million dollars. This is about a man unhappy with his life, perhaps having a midlife crisis. He doesn't love his wife anymore, and he wants to get away. He falls in love with another girl and a man tells him it's alright, he's only doing it to feel younger, and steal a little happiness out of life. |
Stellastarr* – Homeland Lyrics | 16 years ago |
*sighs* This band doesn't get nearly enough attention. I think it's a song about being lonely. His physical belongings impress people, but any friends he has are fake. He likes a girl that doesn't like him back, and he's asking her to escape the superficiality with him, possibly by becoming intimate or running away from his "homeland" to start anew. |
Red Hot Chili Peppers – Under the Bridge Lyrics | 17 years ago |
Drew some blood... gave his life away... it sounds like he's alluding to suicide. |
