| My first thought was drugs, then it was sin. Sin fits with the latin lyrics and the german ones in my opinion. I don't know what the Schwarze Sonne has to do with anything though, but then again I don't really know that much about it. It could represent paganism or something unchristian drawing him away from god. I'm not sure. | |

| It's pretty obvious what it's about i think. It seems to be about an old couple in which the woman is dying, and this is her goodbye. They're on a beach somewhere and have their last kiss (amazing how simple it can be and yet so poetic and pretty the song makes it). But now it's been so long since then and the man doesn't remember it anymore. At first I thought this meant he had forgotten her, which it could be, but that's a pessimistic way to look at it. A more positive way (yet still sad) is that he can't remember what the kiss felt like sort of. But the idea is he still loves and remembers her. It could be either I guess, the song doesn't really clarify. But this is definitely my favorite song by Rammstein and one of my favorite songs in general, it's so pretty! | |

lmao i bought one of those russian rerelease copies for only like 15 dollars. its obviously fake and made after the original release; i mean, it has a synopsis of evanescence history in the front cover, and it talks about fallen! but i dont really feel bad about it. i mean, so wat if its fake. it has 19 tracks, so it has lots of songs that werent originally on there. the quality isnt terrible. well with exception of their version of missing on there, but i dont really care cuz i own anywhere but home as well. i hav the songs, i didnt hav to waste as much time downloading crap, and i hav them in sum cd form. its still pretty much my most prized possession. so if u did buy one dont feel bad at all. and ill happily give anyone the songs i hav cuz i hav i think 95 of them, around 70 that r not open door or fallen songs. this song is one of my two favorite songs of all time (the other one would be missing). the music itself is so damn beautiful. i think that evryone can relate to this. wen ur a child, u dont know anything about how terrible the world is. and becuz of that, it's easy to believe anything and that evrything is great. but then u get older and u see how terrible the world is, and u just grow numb to it after a while. and then at times things can get so bad that u just wish u could go back to not knowing about any of it and just believing evrything is all good and dandy. |

| I do not like this song at all. When I first heard it before the album came out. I flipped. I was really really worried that the rest of the cd was like it. Thank god it isn't. I love the cd, but refuse to listen to this song. The lyrics are too straightforword, I don't take to the music itself very much, it just doesn't click with me. I know exactly how this guy feels!! It's lonliness, like you're separated from everyone some how. Not really physically, cuz he probably has a lot of people that care about him, but more like mentally and emotionally. You can't connect with anyone, no matter how much you want to, and you can't feel any sense of closeness to anyone. I think in this song the ocean represents the world and the people around you. The singer is not in the sea, but rather on shore, staring out at it and longing to be part of it. Should I dress in white and search the sea As I always wished to be - one with the waves He wonders if he should keep trying to connect with everyone and try to open up to them like he always wanted to, to be with them instead of separate. He has tried, but he can't seem to do it. Contrary to what many of you seem to think an "ocean soul" is, I think it is someone who CAN connect and open up to people and can truly trust them with their hearts. The singer is not one of them, though he wishes he could be. |

| I don't really see how anyone thinks this song is about people being separated. Seems more like the people are together. To me it seems that the two people are going through something together, the same thing at the same time. Or perhaps that they are both telling the same lie to the world around them about themselves. It just seems like the pain is the same, and that they are telling eachother, one particularly over the other, that they can endure this and they will do anything to protect the other from the suffering. I don't think this necessarily has to apply to a couple, because I'm like that, but also to a friendship or a family. I think this may seem confusing for people to read so I'm sorry if that's the case. | |

first of all, this is off a website: "The song is about some of my experiences as a teenager with close-mindedness. I thought the people around me seemed lost in a world that I really didn't belong in. It's kind of spiritual." I'm not a Christian myself, so I'm sorry if I seem a little bit off. For me this song describes how I see Christians. But I also think it's sung from the point of view of a Christian, or someone who wants to convert to Christianity. "When they all come crashing down- midflight you know you're not the only one when they're so alone they find a back door out of life you know you're not the only one" The Christians are in emotional turmoil of some sort, and they turn god as a means to get through it or get away from their suffering. "We're all grieving lost and bleeding" Just saying that everyone, no matter what religion, are in some sort of pain. "All our lives we've been waiting for someone to call our leader." Saying that the Christians or Christians-to-be have always wanted someone to turn to in times of crisis, and they found that in god and jesus. "all your lies I'm not believing heaven shine a light down on me" To me this seems like a Christian is noticing that they are starting to question the bible and all the teachings of their church and such, and it freaks them out because they don't want to stop believing or else they won't be saved. "So afraid to open your eyes- hypnotized you know you're not the only one" The Christians are so afraid of seeing or believing other ways to view the world that they simply shut their eyes to it (srry if u find that sentence offensive). And the speaker again knows that he/she is not the only one who is like that. "and you're right I don't deserve but you know I'm not the only one" The Christian knows they don't act as a Christian should and sins so much that they don't deserve god, but they know they're not the only one who doesn't deserve him. "Don't look down don't look into the eyes of the world beneath you don't look down, you'll fall down, you'll become their sacrifice" The Christian is telling themself not to get enveloped in the world, or else they will fall into sin or not believing and not make it into heaven. "Right or wrong, Can't hold onto the fear that I'm lost without you. If I can't feel, I'm not mine. I'm not real." They're saying that whether Christianity is right or wrong, they're going to stay faithful just out of fear of being without god or jesus. again, srry if anyone finds this offensive, but this is wat i think the song is describing. and it kind of applies to amy, cuz she isn't exactly a model christian. |
