lol, mikey has it. |
Goldfrapp – Little Bird Lyrics | 16 years ago |
amazing climax, i do think it is beautiful |
Arcade Fire – Broken Window Lyrics | 16 years ago |
love the build around the 3 minute mark. |
Muse – Falling Away with You Lyrics | 16 years ago |
the song itself is self-explanatory, but... i really think it's a nice song, and even if muse aren't as good as they used to be, absolution is still a good album. |
The Flaming Lips – Felt Good to Burn Lyrics | 16 years ago |
old but really good |
Peter Bjorn and John – Objects of My Affection Lyrics | 16 years ago |
second chances in life. this is a really good song, more like a poem or story though. |
Mogwai – Friend of the Night Lyrics | 16 years ago |
great build. i would love to learn the piano part. the meaning is up to the listener, really. |
Mogwai – Stop Coming to My House Lyrics | 16 years ago |
haha the kids at the end. i love this one. this album is great/underrated. |
Mogwai – I Know You Are But What Am I? Lyrics | 16 years ago |
there is so much dissonance in this song, when the notes are retracting back and forth.. but it's the good dissonance if you think about the dissonance and the title, then you'll understand a little better |
Mogwai – Tracy Lyrics | 16 years ago |
i love this one. it also reminds me of explosions in the sky/the rescue album in a way, around day 3. |
Mogwai – Katrien Lyrics | 16 years ago |
yeah i wonder what the lyrics are. opening bass line is really something else though. |
Radiohead – I Want None of This Lyrics | 16 years ago |
i love this one, it is not boring at all. |
LCD Soundsystem – All My Friends Lyrics | 16 years ago |
sound of silver = one of the best albums of 2007. |
Mozart – Dies Irae Lyrics | 16 years ago |
OK, whoever did the first comment has got to be the most incompetent person in the world. |
Explosions in the Sky – Time Stops Lyrics | 16 years ago |
how strange, innocence really is an amazing album |
Radiohead – Go Slowly Lyrics | 16 years ago |
this song seems extremely melancholy, but with flecks of hope. i think it's about going slowly so that you don't miss what's around you. |
Radiohead – Go Slowly Lyrics | 16 years ago |

Elliott Smith – Bye Lyrics | 16 years ago |
it reminds me of christmas too |
Kings of Convenience – Summer on the Westhill Lyrics | 16 years ago |
pretty |
Radiohead – Jigsaw Falling into Place Lyrics | 16 years ago |
unrequited love or cheating |
Radiohead – All I Need Lyrics | 16 years ago |
climax is amazing. so dark. |
Radiohead – Videotape Lyrics | 16 years ago |
um, what buildup are you guys talking about? the nonexistent one? i'm not criticizing the song per se; radiohead should have kept elements of the live version. but that's just my opinion... |
Radiohead – House of Cards Lyrics | 16 years ago |
not bad, first time hearing it today. effects are nice; they should have used some on videotape. a house of cards... fragile, hard to build, and falls easily. could symbolize love. |
Radiohead – Arpeggi Lyrics | 16 years ago |
ok, recorded version kicks ass. if you haven't listened to it by now, i advise you do. |
Elliott Smith – Son of Sam Lyrics | 16 years ago |
not much like elliott's stuff, but i like it i'm not sure of the meaning... but i wanna learn the piano part |
Elliott Smith – I Better Be Quiet Now Lyrics | 16 years ago |
letting go, but also... about how ignorance is bliss. not knowing what you could have had is sometimes better. |
Muse – Bliss Lyrics | 16 years ago |
sometimes, muse seem a bit overdone, but this song sticks out for me because bellamy projects his voice beautifully and differently than he usual does. i think this is one of their bests. it's definitely about love/admiration/etc but the meaning is interchangeable for whomever. |
Elliott Smith – Pretty (Ugly Before) Lyrics | 16 years ago |
reminds of that song... sunny came home, just a tad i love this one. elliott smith is amazing |
Beirut – Postcards from Italy Lyrics | 16 years ago |
gorgeous about memories though |
Apostle of Hustle – Animal Fat Lyrics | 16 years ago |
lovely/romantic song |
Coldplay – Low Lyrics | 16 years ago |
best coldplay song... imo I really like TheAngelTheory's interpretation. a silver spoon... could be a symbol of the way medicine is fed. it's definitely about a person dying. |
Apostle of Hustle – Kings and Queens Lyrics | 16 years ago |
I think the first part goes... "Take on anything that comes before you" but I'm not sure. This song is absolutely lovely. |
Apostle of Hustle – National Anthem of Nowhere Lyrics | 16 years ago |
yes. amazing. |
The Smashing Pumpkins – Shame Lyrics | 16 years ago |
Drybes-- why would you comment and say that? I think Adore is easily one of their best albums. It's so wistful, and it has so much depth. Much like this song. |
Sea Wolf – Black Dirt Lyrics | 16 years ago |
LOVE this one. great band about murder? or generally guilt. i don't care, it's still good. |
The Flaming Lips – Haven't Got a Clue Lyrics | 16 years ago |
i'm listening to this now goddd it's hilarious lalsdjklad i love the FL |
Ambulance LTD – Swim Lyrics | 16 years ago |
underrated, awesome band. i really dig ambulance LTD. chewbecca has a good interpretation. |
Deerhunter – Like New Lyrics | 16 years ago |
freaking love this song. no comments? what a shame. i don't understand it though. |
Radiohead – Videotape Lyrics | 17 years ago |
i really like the build in this one (even if i have a bad version, i noticed) i think the person speaking is viewing their life as a videotape. they are satisfied with it (hence the last line). it's funny, cause you can always rewind a videotape very easily (even manually), so it's like the person has the ability and comfort to watch their life over and over. i don't know if you guys catch my drift. i also like the red-blue-green reference. it reminds me of the time one of my old TVs got busted open and i could see the lighting inside and the filters were those colors. radiohead sure know what they're talking about always. |
Radiohead – Arpeggi Lyrics | 17 years ago |
i was never into their unreleased songs, but this one made me stop and listen (along with a few others) seems like it's about love. if i had a clearer version, i'd be able to interpret it a little better since i'd hear more of the instrumentation and such. i look forward to LP7 greatly |
Radiohead – Worrywort Lyrics | 17 years ago |
i get the feeling that this is being sung to a kid i could actually picture this song on their album kid a, and not as a b-side it's still good though i get an optimistic feel from it, EVEN if it seems sarcastic and whatnot. thom sings each idea with an upward note. |
Radiohead – Optimistic Lyrics | 17 years ago |
severalways has an interesting point. much of radiohead's music is very sarcastic. it's really hard to be optimistic these days. and no, "the best can you can is good enough". nothing ever seems good enough. again, with the sarcasm. |
Radiohead – Idioteque Lyrics | 17 years ago |
*sorry. i meant to say that in limbo is the previous track. |
Radiohead – Idioteque Lyrics | 17 years ago |
i'm... surprised that this song has 200 comments. it never struck me as the best song of kid a, but that's just my opinion. anyways. i think it's about college life. from the theory that kid a coincides with your age, this after treefingers (high school). it makes sense to me that way. "Here I'm allowed Everything all of the time " the college life in a nutshell. and uh, i think the ice age coming reference is to the "in limbo" that's coming. (it's the next song on kid a, but you probably know that). in limbo is about reality truly hitting... and to me, that is an ice age. extreme change. |
Radiohead – Treefingers Lyrics | 17 years ago |
about the transition from high school into reality. kid A is about the order of stages of your life (matching with ages). pieamerica is pretty correct on this one. |
Radiohead – In Limbo Lyrics | 17 years ago |
i think this song has to do with finally going into the real world. you're in limbo; you start to realize you DO need a job, and basically learn to live on your own (snap out of that fantasy world). and what i find funny is the "I'm the first in the Irish Sea" - could be about the 'getting a job' aspect; in history, irish people came overseas to america because of their employment history in europe. and if i'm correct, the order of kid a kind of coincides with your age/stage of life. this song is kind of the middle... so perhaps after college/30s. |
Radiohead – The National Anthem Lyrics | 17 years ago |
Crimsonrim (above poster), i kind of agree. notice how this is the 3rd song off Kid A. i think kid a follows a format such that the order represents your age. for example, EIIRP is about age 0-5, kid a is age 5-10, and i think t he national anthem is age 11-14 or so.... so forth. given that, i think that's the age where some people realize how much they have ahead of them in their life, when reality hits. middle school was a huge transition for some of us, if you can remember. with that in mind, the lyrics kind of make sense - whoever is speaking is like "Wow, things are REALLY starting to appear/show" - and the music follows this too- the crazy jazz aspects (excitement, uncontrolled everything). radiohead really did a nice job w/ this one. i wish i could explain it more better. |
Radiohead – Morning Bell Lyrics | 17 years ago |
yeah, i think this song is about divorce morning bell, could refer to church bells when someone gets married (which is ironic, because the song is about divorce. but radiohead does these things). "you can keep the furniture/bump on your head.": sometimes, when couples are divorced/fighting, one of the spouses sleeps on the couch. it's kind of uncomfortable, hence the bump. other stuff, "cut the kids in half" (custody) "nobody wants a slave" (the husband/wife probably have a relationship of working and then going home. nothing special. they just work like a slave to the industry of america). i'd go further into detail, but i don't feel like it. i really like this song though. kid a took awhile to grow on me. |
Radiohead – Kid A Lyrics | 17 years ago |
this song gives me the chills i think the end has a connection to the pied piper story (like previous posters have mentioned) but i'm not sure about the other stuff "Standing in the shadows at the end of my bed" might have to do with the fact when your parents put you to bed, and how you want to hide in them because you're still young and don't want to go to bed yet |
Portishead – Pedestal Lyrics | 17 years ago |
this reminds me of secret admirers. when someone secretly likes you, they put you on a pedestal since they only pick out the good aspects of you (since they admire from afar). when someone does not know they have this admirer, they don't really respond, so the secret admirer feels frustration. the song makes sense to me when i think of it this way. |
