I agree with both of you all, this is the first song I heard by them and I've loved them ever since! I hope we get to hear a lot more material from MWM and Blind Old Freak (Ally's solo project) now that he has left NIN. I love NIN to death and I'm glad I got to see Alessandro with NIN twice but I just think he has so much more potential outside of the band =) |

I love this song.
It is Year Zero's Hurt, Something I can Never Have, RWIB, etc.
as for the meaning i would agree with Fuzz except for the part that theres nothing we can do. Being the fact that there is a part 2 i think that there is a slim chance of us being able to turn it all around. But only if 'god has mercy on our dirty little hearts'
but with that said
with the future of the world in trents hands. I don't think we have much hope.

The verses in this song are so powerful.
and as for my quick analysis of the song it sounds like the leader (bush) gave the country his propaganda for the war and his reasoning for parapin. However the character doesn't believe it but knows that everything will be easier if he just gives in. But something is stopping him from doing so. |

while yes some of the album is definitely portraying the bush administration i think it is more of a broader sense of the pure disarray in the U.S and around the world.
and through hearing about the recent listening parties they do actually curse as well. But when i wrote that post i didn't realize that it was the content of the songs rather than just the words. Sorry |

and i saw moving units live opening up for nine inch nails. didn't know who they were at the time and didn't get into them until recently because at the concert there was microphone issues so it was impossible to hear anything that the singer was singing. but now im glad that i checked them out again. |
