System of a Down – Mr. Jack Lyrics
|
I was in the back of a car tripping on acid, when we got pulled over by the police on a highway, and it just so happened to be the end part of this song playing - "Put your hands up, get out of the car! and etc..."
If you watch red and blue police lights for too long, they turn green. True story. |

Marilyn Manson – Mister Superstar Lyrics

I thought this was the kinds of attention that the worm was having, and that he just wants it to stop (I know I can turn you on/I wish I could just turn you off/I never wanted this).
?Did anyone notice that about 2 mins from the end of the song, Manson whispers "I'll kill myself on TV"/"I wish i was dead". Is this possibly another reference to Doctor Gunn, i.e. Get Your Gunn: PoAAF."
He actually says "Will you kill yourself on Tv?/We'd like to see you dead" |

Marilyn Manson – Wormboy Lyrics

The worm is realising he's becoming the one thing that he once truly despised.
Cruel how that happens.
On the contrary, i quite like this song. Musically and lyrically. I'm an early manson fan, so I don't actually mind Daisy Berkowitz's style of writing. |

Marilyn Manson – Little Horn Lyrics

Muzzy is right about the biblical reference.
The post Killswitch made disagrees with a theory that I wrote a large essay about a few years ago when Manson was pretty much my obsession.
There's a lot more to this than being told to fuck off by someone the worm admires. The triptych does begin at Holy Wood. Though I know that the triptych illustrates Jack's "becoming" into something he always hated and was against.
Argh, I can't be bothered trying to form my essay again. Time for some folder hunting. |

Using the term in that context ('Everybody's someone else's nigger') is not directed at any one, not even just black people.

Jack Off Jill – Underjoyed Lyrics

It sounds like she's feeling blank. She doesn't feel like anything, not happy nor sad, which some people associate with depression.
I go through phases where I just don't know about anything. It's like boredom. It's the feeling that is kicked by a lifestyle change. |

zoomzoom; don't be ignorant. If you go clubbing what else do you expect to hear? I know most clubs I go to play dance music a good 95% of the time. This song, to me, is one of those fun songs, that you, well, have fun listening and dancing to. Yes, F U N. Forgotten how to do that eh? |

Britney Spears – Piece Of Me Lyrics

I might be one of the only people who like Britney Spears. Who hasn't dropped their kid? I mean, fuck.
I don't think she's stopped caring, but I do admire what she does because she knows it'll get everyone talking about how 'scandalous' it is. Haha, it's fantastic, people do the same things as her every day. It's nothing new.
Yay Britney, |

Scribe – Stop The Music Lyrics
|
This song is about the criticism that he (and others) have received, not constructive criticism however, the kind of things like "Give it up, you're not going anywhere, you suck so just stop while you're ahead", and it's about riding out to meet that and just trying to make the best for yourself, and not caring about the idiots who shun or oppose your 'art'. |

HIM – Bury Me Deep Inside Your Heart Lyrics
| 17 years ago
|
I like that idea for a song. "I slaughtered my woman on the steps of her own home and then held a Black Mass in the master bedroom". I doubt too many faggoth slags would find that romantic. Though... they'll do anything to appear 'different' or 'edgy'.
Anyhow, this is one of the few HIM songs that I really do like, it holds some significance to me because a 'close' friend of mine had this played at his funeral. It just gives me a good ol' shot of nostalgia. |

HIM – And Love Said No Lyrics
|
If I had to listen to this every time I turned on the radio, I would fucking off myself. Some HIM is decent, but this is simply talentless garbling. Listen to their EP. At least they sounded decent, and the whole "love and death" thing wasn't completely stale like turd floating about the local estuary. |

Why is Quiffporn so different from everyone else here? Wanna know his secret? Wanna know what he has the a good 99.5% of you DON'T have? Metaphorically, he "has a brain", he is witty and he is creative. Jesus, what a find in the world full of wasted fucking SKIN.
This song is crap. I like some HIM songs, but this was pure shit on fucking toast. |

HIM – Buried Alive By Love Lyrics
|
You've been 'gracing' this thread for around three years? My friend, you seem like an extremely lonely guy.
HIM aren't a great band, it's ignorant to deny that their lyrical content is often very, very repetitive and clearly they do intend on marketing their slop to the fat drippy Goth teenage girls, I second that of course, although I do listen to odds and ends of their music.
However, in my opinion, they're certainly more interesting than bullshit like Lamb of God. Yes, I used to be into Lamb Of God. Yes, I've seen them live. I've picked more interesting lint out of my goddamn belly button.
The bottom line is, Quiff, before you bad-mouth other bands that no-one is ACTIVELY forcing you to listen to, posting on a forum for almost four years running about it, etc, maybe you should consider that some of the music you listen to isn't exactly what most would call 'impeccable'. And don't feed me the "OMGZUR STARTING AN ARUGMENT!!!" crap. I'd guess that if someone was bad-mouthing a band that you enjoy, you'd let them get right up in your face.
And don't try to impress others into thinking that you're going to 'own' me on the internet. I've seen a number of your posts, and there's a fine line between being self-assured/intelligent and just plain arrogant :). |

Rammstein – Amour Lyrics

It's just an overall display of what love is. It's not just kisses and cuddles and happiness, it gets under your skin and can leave 'marks' (scratches, as mentioned), that it's something that you can't control and just have to leave it to run it's course. |

JC Chasez – All Day Long I Dream About Sex Lyrics
| 17 years ago
|
This song is just as 'distasteful', as you say, as something that is played at all hours on MTV involving some black guys and some woman with giant asses. I do like this song, it's a little more "edgy" than what you'd usually hear on TV since the subject isn't exactly 'subtle'. It's the sort of song I like to hear at club. Sex is normal, and it's normal to want to have lots of sex. Anyone who suppresses that desire is obviously uncomfortable in their own skin, and/or are brainwashed :). |

Cannibal Corpse – Fucked With A Knife Lyrics

HAHA. They're so intentionally violent that the vocalist starts laughing at times. Don't listen to this shit if you have no stomach for it. It's actually written really well, even though it is fucking vile.
As for "goths"? Not so many goths like death metal (I being in the scene for years and only met another goth who is rather fond of the genre). |

Mudvayne, mediocre nu-metal slop. Cannibal corpse are so much better, talent-wise. Yes, they write about fictional events for SHOCK VALUE, and it is pretty good writing.
Besides, this is hardly worse than a movie like Saw or Hostel.
Just remember - what these artists have written doesn't necessarily mean you have to depict THEM doing these 'horrible' things. |

I overlooked this band, up til now. Upon realizing that these people aren't exactly serious (the lead sometimes cracks up at how violent it is), this is actually written well. Sure, the subject is sick, but it's not like they actually do go and fuck dead kiddies. It's shock value. The music isn't bad, either. |

She Wants Revenge – Tear You Apart Lyrics

I didn't hear the Bauhaus influence, at all, and I'm a huge Bauhaus fan. Definitely some Curtis/Joy Division influence there, the guy sounds like Curtis has been reincarnated. Maybe except this guy isn't as good as our lovely Ian. Cool song, but I really don't like the rest of their stuff. The album was disappointing.
I think it's about two people crushing on one another, and there are difficulties. But they get together, anyways. Pretty simple, little, if any, hidden meaning. |

Just reading the lyrics, I can't see any jesus references.
PS. Also, 'him' is spelt with a lower case. His name is not 'Him', it's Jesus. You don't start ANY english sentences with 'Him" either. Therefore, it must be a lower-case 'h'.

Ah, I hate this. I love the song, but it's so 'face value'. Maybe that is not the right english word. The entire GAOG is face value, though. I think it runs along the basis of Para-noir. An ode to every bitch who has used him, male, female, whutever. |
