Marilyn Manson – Irresponsible Hate Anthem Lyrics 12 years ago
I do understand one part that speaks out to me.

He says "I wasn't born with enough middle finger." The gesture traditionally means "Fuck you!", but I suppose that he goes unheard if he says "Fuck you." And since he wasn't born with enough middle fingers, then he probably still won't be heard by theworld when he tells it "Fuck you!"

Manson is a genius with his lyrics, but the subject matter is always questionable...

Slipknot – Circle Lyrics 12 years ago
I don't think that many of you would see this or get this right away (or even care), but

DOES ANYBODY notice how much the lyrics to this song are related to THE DARK TOWER series of books by STEPHEN KING?

Every lyric matches the books so closely, the fact that the song has nothing to do with the books is pretty fuckin' wierd!

If you guys want to see what I'm talking about, read all of the books. Then come back and read these lyrics, and see how much they sync together.

I am serious, this is wierd..

System of a Down – Stealing Society Lyrics 12 years ago
I think I know.

Skys are like enviroments, so the skies could be civilizations or nations. The sun lives in the sky, so the suns could be the "People" of the "Skies. The "skies" could both be at war, and the "Suns" are watching them and all their fighting. Meanwhile, the "Suns" are fighting amongst themselves, while one "Sky" watches and the other is powerless to do anything about it's "Sun's" fighting.

The part about getting high and all that, is a closer detail about why the "Suns" are fighting amongst eachother: Drugs.

Of course, this is how I percieve it all.

Slipknot – Surfacing Lyrics 12 years ago
About what some people have been saying earlier about Corey Taylor not having a good vocabulary while writing this song, about "Showing his stupidity" by using curse words as most of the song's chorus, and about being able to write better lyrics in second grade.....

When you're as pissed off and aggressive as this song, I don't think you really care how articulate your words are. You don't really want to say..

"I hate this miserable fucking world so much because of what it mercilessly does to me, and I want to get away from this apotheosis of pain for all eternity, and all of the diabolical things that you blindly stand for is completely incorrect.."

What you REALLY want to say is...

"FUCK IT ALL!!
FUCK THIS WORLD!!
FUCK EVERYTHING THAT YOU STAND FOR!!"

Besides, curse words are used for getting anger out, so there you go, you motherfuckin' BITCHES!! (JK)

This is one of my favorite SlipKnoT songs, btw.

Nine Inch Nails – Hyperpower! Lyrics 12 years ago
...Okay. Let's say for all intents and purpouses, that I, myself, am Our Country.

"HYPERPOWER! WE NEED MORE POWER! WE CANNOT LET ANYTHING ELSE BE ABOVE US! FUCK EVERYTHING ELSE! WE NEED POWER!"

Now, the song kinda has ideals of the old belief of Manifest Destiny.

Nine Inch Nails – The Great Destroyer Lyrics 12 years ago
We are all born capable of doing terrible things... I heard that in a movie once.

I think it all means that we are the Great Destoyers, destroying ourselves and our world. The planet would be in great shape if not for the fact of humanity's destructive ways. In a way, mankind itself is the cause of every bad thing that has ever happened (murder, pollution, and destuction of the planet) to the planet.

Human's have the ability to destroy entire planets...

Funny, the things you learn.

Nine Inch Nails – Another Version of the Truth Lyrics 12 years ago
I agree with SethSephir

With all that has happened (The ever-crashing economy, Parepin, Angry Sniper, Opal, the threat of Red Horse Vector, and the Presence), everyone can see that it is coming. The end really is near. In all of the fighting and trying to ignore it, we stop to think about the future. Then we realize it. We have almost no time left. The world is on a string that is about to be cut. There's no hiding it. We can't lie to ourselves, or run away from the truth. But we try to make ourselves feel better and stifle our fear by making "Another Version of the Truth", to make ourselves believe that in the end, everything will come out alright, that the end is coming, but there may be good out of it. We'll be okay.

Nine Inch Nails – The Greater Good Lyrics 12 years ago
It's simple.

There is a higher power amongst us. We don't trust them. But there is the sudden outbreak of Parepin in the water. It's making us more submissive. We'll listen to anything they say.

They want to be one with us, and us one with them. We down want to fight, so we'll "breathe them in", let them become a part of our lives.

They will not force theirselves upon us, so their doing it "slowly...".

They lead us to believe that it will all be for our benefit. There will be "persuasion, coercion, submission, assimilation", but we don't care.

They are leading us to believe that it's all for "The Greater Good."

Man, it really pays to do research on Year Zero ^_^.

Nine Inch Nails – Capital G Lyrics 12 years ago
I think he say 'Trading in" instead of "Turning in". Turning in would just mean giving over. Trading in would mean you get something in return, like something else to worship.

The Downward Spiral had a story to it that was relatively easy to follow. The Fragile has a storyline too, but it's a little harder to get. And I think I finally figured it out.

In "Somewhat Damaged",the character is going through very rough times and has been broken.
That's all.The song is pretty self-explanitory.If you can't get the meaning of this song, you're an idiot.

Look for all of the posts on this site for all of the songs on the Fragile and look for my posts for more.

Nine Inch Nails – No, You Don't Lyrics 12 years ago
I love this song.It sounds so angry! But now, after listening to The Fragile, I think I finally get it all now.

The Downward Spiral had a story to it that was relatively easy to follow. The Fragile has a storyline too, but it's a little harder to get. And I think I finally figured it out.

In "No, You Don't",the person that Trent broke in"Just Like You Imagined"has nothing good shining in them anymore beacause it was taken away in "Pilgrimage".She has changed into an awful person that likes to hurt others just to feel good about herself.Trent thinks she has gone too far and stops her from hurting anyone else, thus the very loud sounds right at the end of the song meaning that he has "silenced " her.But all along,he couldn't believe that she turned into someone like that (I did not believe, that you could sink so low..).

If you read this, then see all of the posts on this site for all the songs on The Fragile and look for my post.
