Eminem – The Way I Am Lyrics 16 years ago
^^^I agree that rap which is played on most radio stations now is crap. That's why I listen to some older stuff.

Back to the song:
I partly agree that Eminem is trying to get his albums to sell and I dont think "he has balls" for putting a song out like this. However, the first verse alone is enough proof for Eminem being one of the best rappers ever. Words don't usually flow like that, and plus his voice is a little bit angrier + deeper in this song. The lyrics are great too, just for having such unconventional rhymes + multiple rhymes per line. Great stuff.

The Fratellis – Ole Black 'n' Blue Eyes Lyrics 17 years ago
^^^^
I like that. Maybe at first he was attracted to the girl, but then realized shes "not my kind of friend". But her eyes make him feel pity for her and keeps him there.

The Fratellis – For The Girl Lyrics 17 years ago
Oh yeah, sara superhero is right. I never even thought about that, just thought about how roses and stones are like complete opposites. Stones: cold, ugly...... Roses: "beautiful"

But yeah, it is probably referring to the bands.

This song's intro is the best out of all the intros on the album, which is good, since it's the first song on the album.

The Fratellis – Flathead Lyrics 17 years ago
Ok, I'm just combining some thoughts into my version.

"Just because she feeds me well
And she made me talk dirty in a pink hotel
Doesn't mean she's got eyes for me
She might just want my bones you see"
THIS, in my opinion is the guy talking to Flathead, a girl. He is trying to tell her that yes, he had sex with another girl, but she was just a one night thing and the two are not in love.

"Hey flathead don't you get mean
She's the second best killer that I ever have seen
They don't come much more sick
Than you I could go on if you want me to
It's just so wrong so very nice I told you
Once and you killed me twice
I saw you one time at the back of the
Club chewing on glass and a ticket stub"
NOW, this is the boy telling Flathead that she isn't listening and isn't listening to what he says (she did it twice). He says that the other girl was only the second hottest girl, behind Flathead. Also, he says that he saw Flathead doing meth and LSD or whatever in the club, so she's not completely innocent.

"I heard they kicked the boy til he bled
Then stood and said oh my god til she said"
ABOUT this, I am not certain, but I think it's physical violence...???

"Bara bap bara ra ra ra bara bap bara ra ra ra......"
SO Flathead just keeps going on about how what the boy did was wrong. I think bara bap bara is sort of like in America when someone keeps talking endlessly and people say "blah blah blah".

"Everybody knows you're the one to call
When the girls get ugly round the back of the wall
Josephine says you got bleedin nose
Shes takin it with her wherever she goes"
NOW, he tries to again reassure her by saying she is the one to call when the other girls are boring or too wasted/high/etc. I have no idea about the bleeding nose, but it might be about drugs??

"Hey flathead don't check me in
Well hers is a tonic and mine is a gin
They don't come much more slick
Than you I'd drive your car if you ask me to"
HE goes on saying that Flathead should calm down, because he and the other girl were completely different. He says that she si definitely the hottest and he'd have sex with her/love her if she wants.

"Said the boy's not right in the head
So he stood and got a kickin instead til she said"
MAYBE he's saying that he wasn't thinking clearly and now hes kicking himself, in a figurative way.

"Bara bap bara ra ra ra bara bap bara ra ra ra......"
FLATHEAD goes "blah blah blah" again.

"And she said the boy's not right in the head
Then stood and said oh my god til she said"
OK, he' wasn't thinking.....

"Bara bap bara ra ra ra bara bap bara ra ra ra......"
SHE keeps rambling on and on about what he did......
*******
So, what do you think? There is some missing information, but this is my basic interpretation.

Green Day – The Saints Are Coming (Skids cover) Lyrics 17 years ago
What a great sounding piece live! Great energy on both parts, U2 and Green Day! I wanna see more stuff like this in the future because the two bands felt really comfortable on stage. Just look here:

http://youtube.com/watch?v=yC-3bnuoIsg

I love the end part where they spaz out and sing "I say no matter how I try I realize there's no reply"x3 because it really is a good moment. Great work guys!

Green Day – Misery Lyrics 17 years ago
This is quite possibly my favorite Green Day song ever! Its just awesome! Brief summary as I see it:

Well, I'll go by the people. Look at urbandictionary.com for some stuff if you need info on the slang.

Virginia-She is a prostitute, who works at truck stops. (Look it up on urbandictionary) She is not doing so well and she starts hitching rides to wherever as it seems. Basically, she just doesn't wanna be bored and hates her life either way. I think she is in California though cause everyone else seems to be.

Mr. Whirly- He was probably doing pretty well in life, but like many people, addictions brought him down. He lives in the Bay Area of California, more notably the "haight" which is supposedly a place for drugs (I'm not sure). Now comes the "panhandling" part. I believe this means he begs in misery but it might have to do with masturbation (look up urbandictionary again).

The chorus is about people getting high, feeling down, etc. MISERY!

Vinnie-Vinnie sold or had connections with drug dealers, possibly in or near Hollywood (tinseltown). Drug dealing is not safe of course, and so one day Vinnie is killed in a cadillac. Presumably it is his cadillac but IMO it might be some rich drug lord's car.

Gina- For some reason she is going to New York. IMO, she is going from California (since that is where everything else seems to be once again) to New York. On the way, she hooks up with Vinnie's drugs and Virginia. It says they elope, but I think it just means they hitched a ride together And "kissed the bride eternally" makes me think that Gina killed Virginia.

OVERALL-This song is all about MISERY! Duh! Like others have said, its about how wrong desicions affect your life. Whether it be drugs, sex, etc. Whatever. You know what I mean.

So what do you guys think of my interpretation? Is it similar to anyone elses?

Green Day – Jesus of Suburbia Lyrics 17 years ago
This song captures so much energy into it that I'm amazed! When I listen to it I'm about to explode. Anyway, here is a short summary of "Jesus of Suburbia" as it is to me.

1.Jesus of Suburbia- This is just an introduction to who Jesus is. It talks about how he is doing drugs, leading a horrible life, and sort of well...being punk, I guess. "But there's nothing wrong with me....This is how I'm supposed to be ". Its like he's trying to prove he isnt insane, to make himself feel better.

2. City of the Damned-Going along with the introduction, "City of the Damned" introduces the town. The descriptions really make you feel like you " read the graffiti In the bathroom stall
Like the holy scriptures of a shopping mall". Basically it shows that Jesus is not the only one who has a crappy life.

3. I Dont Care- Jesus lets go a little bit and says "screw you" to everyone. "Everyone is so full of shit ...Born and raised by hipocrites" he says, telling everyone he doesnt care and yet it seems he feels he is the same way.

4. Dearly Beloved- So now, after going crazy for a little bit, Jesus gets more down and "emo-like". He starts thinking once more, "WTF am I doing?" And then he asks "Oh therapy, can you please fill the void?" signifying his confusion. IMO, this is incredibly emotional and the most brilliant part of the song.

5.Tales of Another Broken Home- Jesus is pissed now. He hates his home and everyone in it. He wants to leave, but is nervous as well. Yet he goes on, "I don't feel any shame
I wont apologize

When there ain't nowhere you can go
Running away from pain
When you've been victimized
Tales from another broken home " And in the end he leaves home, still telling himself that he is perfectly fine. Its a weird thing of the mind where he NEEDS to tell himself that he is sane, or he'll just kill himself. So, he leaves...........

Like I said, this is how I see it. It might be similar to what others thing, or not. Either way, I am crazy about Green Day.
