Just like you, I never saw the affair theme everyone else talks about, let alone the gay theme (thats sometimes present in The Killers songs). Instead, it stroke a chord in me, its all about crossing limits, conquering your fears, acknoledging youre in this together - it takes two to defeat all evil - you and God, or you and a loved one. The video speaks for itself, and helps you understand the song.

Great song. I can't believe it, at first I didn't liked the new album at all. But with time, it grew on me. This song is so simple and beautiful, the guitars fit perfectly the lyrics and Gary's voice, makes me feel like I'm floating over the ocean, searching for something I don't know yet. This is incredibile. This song and Finish Line are one of the best songs ever. |

I finally got the album and I'm going to their concert. I still can't believe they're coming to Romania, but this year we have some good festivals and concerts. And we got White Lies. Can't wait for the concert. This song reminds me of the summer nights, when I was in high school and i used to walk for miles and miles by foot and take long walks. Makes me feels warm and fuzzy, and at the same time, brave - I live on the right side, I sleep on the left

omg... i never thought that this song could be about suicide... for me, it's like other snow patrol songs: he is ecstatic because he found the right person, and now hi's whole life is "illuminated" by this person.
all the other metaphors about car crashes and stuff like that are related somewhat to the fact that he felt stuck, he had no purpose in life... but now that he found her, he is ready to move on and be happy, he's tired of "the fear" of living without her... |

this is such a beatiful song and because i watched dawson's creek in my teens, it will always make me think of that time in my life, i felt like time was on my hands and there was nothing better to do than live.

but umbrella just grows on you, and she has really improved since that awful unfaithful thing.

in my opinion, both bands are great... they've matured a lot... and they sound similar... coz you know they started from the same... and blink was the god of my childhood, when i first discovered music.
both +44 and AVA make good music nou, with future sounds... and i like'em both...
though i have to admitt... although i got both albums the very same day, when i listened to +44, didn't like it at all... but loved AVA...
all those war songs... tom's voice... makes me wanna run, drive faster... all those things you do with anxiety and adrenaline...
but yesterday thought... why not listen to +44 again? and loved them...
though lyrics are a bit "childish"... all that stuff with silly girl and things like these... i must admitt they are good.
there is one feeling that's present in my heart, whenever i listen to either AVA, or +44...
