Interesting interpretation and I completely agree except from the length of the relationship. There's just a couple of lines which hint at a more long term relationship rather than a short one/an affair like: "Like in my heart there's that hotel suite and you lived there so long, It's kinda strange now you're gone" But whatever the meaning it's definitely one of my favorites on a masterpiece of an album. |

yeah sounds like tar to me. seems pretty random but potentially about drugs? especially: "Does it help you stay up late? Does it help you concentrate? Does it tune you in when you chew your chin? Am I ruining your fun?" dunno though....just guessing |

i really quite like this song, its music and meaning are very simple but often the simplest things are the best. it describes being tempted to cheat on your partner and knowing you should say you have been 'spoken for' but temptation isnt allowing you to. great tune from a great band |

i love WAS so much and i heard this song on the radio today and thought "hey, that voice sounds familliar" and i was so chuffed when i found out it was we are scientists and i cant wait for their new album to come out XD No idea what the songs about though...anyone got any clever ideas? |

im actually really dissapointed with tranquilize. I just dont think it has the same killers' sound as there is in their other songs. It's just so different to the upbeat, bouncing tunes that the killers have previously produced. Just my opinion of course |

I love how the meaning of the line "Leave before the lights come on changes through the song because at the beginning of the song Alex says "They left before the lights came on because they didn't want to ruin what it was that was brewing" I think this is in a club and they left before the lights came on (in other words before it shut) so they didnt lose the lust and attraction they felt between eachother. Then near the end of the song he says "Quick let's leave before the lights come on cos then you don't have to see, cos then you don't have to see what yoou've done", this is the morning after when he wakes up with the girl from the club and really regrets what he's done and wants to get away as soon as possible hence the lines "I'll walk/wake you up, what time's the bus come?" Great song anyway, whatever the meaning. |

This seems to be written as the 2nd half to the origianal Riot Van. and i think he dies at the end because he says he "Pinched a car with one headlight and lost control the passengers were screaming Made him shut his eyes rate tight and think of you and hope that he was dreaming" so hes nicked a car, gone too fast (probably drunk), lost control and crashed into something. Then he says "Up rolled the riot van and called the fire brigade" so the police called the fire brigade probably because he smashed the car up so much they need to cut him out of the car, "but it was already too late and there was no arrest to make" this means that it was too late and he was already dead so they obviously could'nt arrest him. great song along with the first one. |

I LOVE this song, it makes me feel so good when i listen to it on a hot sunny day. I think you can look at this song in 2 ways. Firstly about really sunny days with all your mates that you will never forget. But also I think you could look at mr bluesky as an actual person who everyone loved & was great to be around but then he dies and when it says " Mr. Blue you did it right, But soon comes Mr. Night, Creepin' over, now his Hand is on your shoulder, Never mind I'll remember you this way" Its like the night symbolises death and when they say "Never mind I'll remember you this way" its like saying never mind, well never forget you and how awesome you were. I love the piece of music at the end between the final line and when the robotic voice says "please turn me over". A truly brilliant song |

This song has got nothing to do with child abuse... at all. The kids hair turns white because people have been known to lose their hair colour after a traumatic experiance (in this case a bad car crash) The girl just has lots of birth marks (which have nothing to do with abuse or bad parenting), maybe caused from a problem at birth? I'm not sure about the last kid but I think he and his family must be part of a special religion where they lie on the floor or something like that. Ultimately I think the message behind the song is maybe about bullying and how on the outside everyone appears to be the same but if you look closer you can see that people are completely different. Or something like that, it's just a guess |
