James Taylor – Copperline Lyrics | 14 years ago |
Hey Tonysimms, that was a wonderful story. So did you guys make it? Just like you there are some songs that I feel were written for me specifically but nothing to the degree that Copperline resonates to you. I quietly appreciate the sentiment of listening to a song that really connects. Anyways, isn't life is so interesting how serendipitous it can be? Hope you are still with her! |
The Smashing Pumpkins – Thirty Three Lyrics | 14 years ago |
I think the title signifies a pivotal year in everyone's life where the age of 33 is a time to be established in life whether career or family. It is between your 20s where you can lead an unstable lifestyle (i.e. partying, going out, etcs) and your 40s where is there is social pressure to be firmly situated in your career. Also, the significance of Jesus' age is prominent. The song is also about being a family man and being responsible. The character in the story while has something or someone to come home to needs to face the world and all his duties himself even though he knows it will be challenging and difficult. He knows he has to be resolute and strong. I think he knows that he will be tempted to stray or waver in his resolve but he has faith. He learns that love and his self-belief can carry him thru regardless of what the world throws at him. This is also a man who has grown to be empathetic and can be better to those in his life. In short this is about becoming a man, husband, family man and responsible member of society. And evidence of Billy's genius! |

The song is also about the fact that September signals the end of summer/fun as we have to get back to work/school. |
Minnie Driver – Deeper Water Lyrics | 17 years ago |
This song is about the exploration and discovery of love in a relationship. Its about getting to know someone and allowing the relationship to grow organically. You can tell she has experienced some heartbreak in the past (I was washed up on the shore) but she is rescued by her lover (You take me out in the water once more). But clearly they want to take things slowly. Its a beautiful song. |
Sarah Blasko – Perfect Now Lyrics | 17 years ago |
In the song its clear that she has violated his trust in some regard by the overwhelming lyric "Living underneath this guilt I cant leave a house that I have built." She is lying beside the perfect guy in the perfect moment but she is overtaken by the her past indiscretion. |
The Cranberries – Linger Lyrics | 17 years ago |
This song is one of the most beautiful songs in the world. Just hearing the first chords makes me think of the sun breaking thru in the morning. But clearly this song is about how she is taken by the guy she interested in, i love it because they played it in the movie Click and it was a great scene! |
Bloc Party – So Here We Are Lyrics | 17 years ago |
I think this song is about that epiphanic moment in your relationship where you realize you know the relationship is going to end. Notwithstanding the person believes he is done all he good to salvagae what he could at great lengths but to no avail. |
