Now that I think about it, I really think it's about her abusive boyfriend she had a few years ago. She said she based most of Fallen on that relationship, and this song is called 'Last song I'm Wasting on You.'
I don't think it's about Shaun. They broke up because he wouldn't get over his drinking problem. I don't think he was abusive... 'Held me down and screamed you wanted me to die' sounds kind of abusive, so it mostly makes me think of her old boyfriend again. |

I really like this song. The guitar in the beginning really sounded great, and the lyrics really are good.
Does anyone know where Saun Morgan said it was about a friend in abusive relationships? On Wikipedia, they're saying it's about a prostitute and I can't say it's not to them if I don't have proof. |

'Sparkling grey, through my own veins' sounds like slitting wrists to me. Maybe I'm wrong, but I'm not sure what else it could mean.
It could be about Ben; Amy said something in an interview about the song that made it sound as if it was. They asked her if the song was about Ben, and she said, "If I answer that, then I'm not hiding anything anymore. But I sort of just did, didn't I?"
It could also be about the abusive boyfriend she had a few years ago. |

I can never find this one version of this song. I'm not sure who performed it, but I know a man did it with a jazz orchestra (I loved the vocals but the jazz didn't really go with it). It's a performance that was recorded in the early nineteen hundreds. Anyone know where I can find this song/

I have actually heard the new album. It leaked a while ago. Don't look for it now, it's gone. It sounded amazing. It's still dark Evanescence, and though the lyrics are more literal, they are still, well... amazing!! I adore the new album. Call Me When You're Sober really stands out from the rest of the album, it's much more bluesy. The only reason it was released was because of the album leak, not for publicity.
Evanescence probably sounds so different now not for popularity, but because new people are writing the songs. Before it was Amy, Ben, and David. Now it's mostly Amy and Terry. Also, they're writing has always reflected music they loved all put together. That's basically what they're music is. It's rock, pop, blues, classical, and opera all mixed together. Some songs have certain elements in them that stand out, like blues in this one. You can't really judge Evanescence by one song, all they're songs are so diffrerent. |

I LOVE THIS SONG!!! Whenever I hear it I must listen to it, like 3 more times before doing anything else. I love how it's sort of techno mixed with rock and great piano. The rain thing gets to me sometimes, but the piano piece is awesome. The part at the end is really soothing, and a great ending, though I think they could have added vocals on that part. |

I like it. It's different from their old stuff, which I think is good. It would be boring to get the same sounding music from them over and over.
I think it sounds good, even though really straight forward. It's still got that evanescence sound to it, though changed, and it still sounds amazing.
The video was okay. It could've been better, though. |
