Best new song on the album, hands down. I love the spoken lyrics along with the screaming, sounds amazing. To be pretty brief, I think this is about the devil and how he has nothing but evil and bad intentions while God loves us and heals us. |

This song is about Luke 16:19—31, 'Lazarus & the Rich Man' In the story, it talks about a man so poor, the dogs even 'licked his sores.' It also talks about how the rich man didn't help him, so he was sent to hell. In hell, he looked up and saw Abraham in Heaven and asked 'for a drop of water because he was so thirsty.' Abraham told him no because there was a 'CHASM' that separated Hell from Heaven and he couldn't come down there, nor could the rich man go up there. The rich man then begged Abraham to let him 'warn his family about how they should follow God so they won't come to Hell' I hope that's proof enough. :) I absolutely LOVE this song. The melody, the guitars, the lyrics; everything. I like how this album has more of a Christian feel to it. Oh, and please don't start a 'Flyleaf isn't a christian band' argument. I know they aren't, but I also know they have Christian influences in their music. :) Great band! |

I think the people around him are angry or sad, but God is teaching him love and showing him everything happens for a reason, even if it starts with pain. Thus the line, "He is teaching me what love really means." |

I have to agree with BuryYourHopes. I'm not sure if GE are Christian, but this song, to me, is as if God is speaking to anyone who needs to let something off their chest. In a non-religious point of view, I can see this as someone openly saying the person they're talking to can trust them with anything, the rest of the world doesn't have to know. Very nice song. I'm glad they did an acoustic track. |

Obviously, Fraijo13 has never personally experienced death. It's not something you just 'get over' with. Anyway, I don't think the band could of made a more beautiful tribute to Casey than this. This band means the world to a lot of people, and without Casey, a piece will always be missing. |

"you better not insult ben moody here. you better not insult anyone. read the "terms" from this board. don't post abusive comments. asshole." excuse me, but, purplestatement, how did you not just insult B12? or amy lee for that matter? anyway, i think evanescence is an ok band just not my sort of music, so when ben moody left the band and later said he was coming out with an album, i really didnt care. but then i heard this song and i was amazed! i had just known him for the guitarist for evanescence but he has much more talent. i suppose i could see this song being about amy lee, but thats not how i interperate it. i always thought this song was about a little girl whose parents didnt really love or care about her. things just keep on getting worse and worse 'till everything burns' |
