I disagree, I dont think its about parent/child relationship. This person is in love, but they dont think they are deserving of it. They feel they arent good enough for this amazing person. After every mess up they make this person still sings to them (still loves them, but could literally sing to them). The child is the evolution of their relationship. It started out just as a small thing (a baby) but it has grown into the full beautiful child. |

I think it is about a now widowed wife who at some point begins talking to her late husband. At this part Sherri and Stacy explain it. "I'm always wondering where you are" shes wondering where her husband is now, and would like to see and talk to him. "Darling, shouldnt I be the one wondering after all I'm the one who is gone" hes now gone, and he would like to know why he isnt with his wife (even though he does understand why), since its not with her. The vocals at this part of the song are just amazing, I love the build up, and how after it, its just Piano, Sherri, and Stacy. And Chautelle's guitar during Sherri's vocals is perfect. The contrast helps explain the story. Sherri (who represents the wife) has Chauntell's powerful guitar to explain the panic of not having her husband, and her voice is higher and more aggresive, showing her pain. Stacy, representing the late husband, is calmer, although he still wishes to be with his wife, he does accept he has moved on, and thats why her voice is calmer. |

Some parts do sound religious, but some sound like they are agnostic, or atheist. The first line "The Absencse of God will bring you comfrot, baby" makes me think that, since there is an abesence of God, whoever "baby" is can now relax and there is no need to always worry of being a sinner in God's eyes. Someone brought up a poing similar to mine. The Absence of God, is a relief. |
