okay so i know everyone has their own interpretations for this song but i always thought of it more of a love song, like in the beginning he's sad - the frown - because she's not willing to try but then she realises she shouldn't just put her dreams to be dealt with one day 'on the shelf' and that 'cause I only have one second, this minute today I can't press rewind and turn it back and call it now and so this moment, I just have to sing out loud and say I love I like and breathe in now' so she decidees to give it a chance, a chance at happiness, a chance at chasing her dreams cuz these moments might never pass by again. anyway thats just my two cents! |

| I dont' think that she will release more songs like this as she was 16 when this was released. it flopped before she released born to try. this was a great song i think but yeh don't expect much more of this because i think delta has definitely grown as an artist...you can see that in the transition of mood of music from innocent eyes to mistaken identity. | |

I this song is profound sad. As law student learning about how the English, Australia and the US all have 'freedom of speech' - in Australia its an implied right into our Constitution - in the US although i am unsure, I know it is a right - possibly in your bill of rights. It is sad that although we are MEANT to have a right to freedom of speech and able to speak up against our leader if we don't agree with their policies (we have a democracy) that freedom is given to the people yet ironically taken away by the people! Good on the Dixie Chick for standing up for what they believe in, regarldess of whether or not u agree with what they said. And shame on those who treated them like crap for exercising a fundamental right given to us through our legal systems. |

| I agree with what you said about her loving someone but this album was also written when she was going through her lymphoma treatment, so I was thinking that 'the last night on earth before the great divide' talks about something profound/huge happneing, could have been her surgery to take away some of hte cancer and how 'time was never on our side' she didn't know if she was going to survive or beat this cancer so it all means that she love ssomeone so much but each night could have been her last. | |
