I love the deep tribal feel to the song, sounds very trip-hop/massive attack. Lyrically its pretty obvious that song is about getting out of a rut and doing something productive with yourself. |

Hard-Fi – Help Me Please Lyrics

|
This is such a sad and moving song. The lyrics and music are simple and so effective. This is why Hard-Fi are one of the best bands at the moment as they can write songs such as this so simply and create such an effective impression on you. The new album is balanced with some great indie upbeat tunes with some sad songs which can make you feel sad . |

Yeh this is one of my fave songs of the album and different from what they've done before. I agree with the first comment, I think it is written about losing everying good that you've had in life and still being on that downward spiral to the bottom. |

Ian Brown – Stardust Lyrics

Great tune of the Music of the Sphere's album. I think the first few lines of the tune is having another pop at John Squire, he's pointing out how easy it is for him to write songs and music compared to the stuff comin out from John Squire which has been pretty awful |

The Verve – Gravity Grave Lyrics

This 8 minute wonder is a great tune with some excellent guitar work by the majestic Nick McCabe. I think the lyrics are about being in state of confusion not knowing what to do with your life and its if you're at the crossroads in your life. |

The Verve – Lucky Man Lyrics

I agree with the theme that the lyrics are about generally finding that love within which at most times is very elusive. In the end if people in your circle either friends or family let you down you've got to find the power within to love yourself, cos in the end you come in on your own and out on your own. |

The Verve – A Man Called Sun Lyrics
|
What a great tune this is. This track is on the Verve Ep which came out back in 92. Its a shame that alot of the comments made on The Verve songs are focused on the lead singles of Urban Hymns. Don't get me wrong I love that album and it is there best work and most mainstream effort, but alot of there earlier work goes unappreciated. There are some real good pyscedelic tunes on the earlier stuff and some killer guitar played by the underated Nick Mccabe. As for this tune well it proberly about a godly figure which sometimes shines on you and sometimes it doesn't. When it does you feel good about yourself and confident, when it disappears you go back into your shell. |

The Verve – Bittersweet Symphony Lyrics
|
Going by the huge amounts of comments already made there really isn't much more to say about the lyrical meaning of this great tune. Ashcroft wrote this song for the people, the real people. He's saying how life is like a ever lasting revolving door for us, we go to work, come back home, off to bed and back to work again earning shite money and staus and feeding the rich folk with the huge taxes we pay. |

The Prodigy – Their Law Lyrics
|
A great tune and yeh the guitar riff blends well with the beats. Check out the two performances of Their Law on the The Singles DVD, Gizz Butt the guitarist featured in both and toured with The Prodigy between 96 and 97 plays the guitar riff really good and adds that punky look to the band. The lyrics are about the giving two fingers to the law in terms of the crap laws which come out which are pretty meaningless and just cause trouble in itself. Politicans need to listen to real people instead of their own. |

The Seahorses – Blinded By The Sun Lyrics
| 17 years ago
|
This is a seriously underated song and I can't believe people haven't already commented on it. I know The Seahorses weren't a great band by all means but John Squire plays some killer guitar on some of the songs and this is one of them. The album they released called Do It Yourself was pretty poor and only had a few decent tunes on there but you could see the potential was there if they stayed together. In terms of the lyrics well I think its about being in a relationship with someone and cracks are appearing in it. The relationship isn't going anyhere hence the lyric "You're walking in circles blinded by the sun." Maybe one person is completly living in their own world which is straining the relationship. |

Oasis – Don't Go Away Lyrics

|
This song is a great tune of Be Here Now. The album is underated and there are some real gems on there, but I can understand why the critics dismissed it as some song are far too long when they could easily have been shortened. This song in paticular is great because the lyrics can be interpreted in many life situations, especially when it comes to relationships with loved ones. |

The Verve – This Is Music Lyrics
|
This is a great tune one of the best on the disappointing Northern Soul album. Ashcroft was well know for making a lot of bold statements at this point of his career and going by the title, this seems to be one of them. When the Northern Soul album was in its recording process the band members especially Ashcroft were taking a large amounts of ecstasy. So the lyrics in my opinion could just have an ambiguous meaning as a result of the high's on being on ecstasy. |

The Verve – On Your Own Lyrics

I agree with the comment above The lyrics seem to be on the theme of loneliness. It seems Ashcroft is finding it hard being on his own and wants to change as a result |
