The lyrics are way off on this site. Dictionary.com defines triages as: A process in which things are ranked in terms of importance or priority. It kinda goes with what the song is about, but the word should be Dregs, which are the least valuable part of society. The first verse is talking about a lot of what you see in america is vanity and tragedy. We idealize people who are beautiful and popular, and all you see on tv is who died today. The second verse is about how people are all rushing in to try and make a quick buck on the newest flavor of the month. |

| Everybody listed in the song considers themselves fighting for the greater good (religion). The chorus is poking fun at their beliefs, because you can't conquer the world and promote equality in all of your decisions. It's a contradiction, because not everyone is going to agree with your decisions. Generally anyone who says they can fix these problems is lying. The bridge sounds like it's coming from the prospective of the writer of the song saying instead of trying to bring everyone to his way of thinking, he'd promote global communion. | |

The chorus says it all. The world you get is the one you give away. People are rarely interested in doing more for someone than what has been done for them. So if your born into a shitty world infested with pollution, crime and violence, what's the use in fixing it if someone before us hasn't bothered to yet. We just shove it in to the hands of the next generation, and tell them to deal with it. People don't break the chain. It sounds like this song is about being depressed. The first verse is about being unmotivated. In the 2nd verse he's sitting in his room dwelling on all his mistakes I haven't really figured anything about the 3rd verse. In my opinion the 4th verse is what ties the name of the band, the cover art, and pretty much the entire cd together. Incase anyone doesn't know Sundowning is defined as "The onset or exacerbation of delirium during the evening or night with improvement or disappearance during the day; most often seen in mid and later stages of dementing disorders, such as Alzheimer's disease." (http://cancerweb.ncl.ac.uk/cgi-bin/omd?query=sundowning&action=Search+OMD) when he refers to "sundowning never getting old" and "my geography will bend", he's talking about drinking. When you get drunk your personality changes, and the next day you wake up as you were before you started drinking. Which explains the abstract shape on the cover, and the reoccuring theme of alcoholism throughout the cd. and the chorus is about realizing that eventually you'll get over what ever is depressing you, it's just going to take time. |
