Modest Mouse – Swy Lyrics

Theo - I don't think he messed up on the first line; I'm pretty sure they were trying to do something that just wasn't going to work. I always figured the whole point of the song was to blend the sound of Isaac saying Y (or swy, or slide or whatever) with the sound of the whistle at the end...but it didn't work. It's almost like they put it on the album as if to say, "well, you get the idea..." |

The Offspring – The Meaning Of Life Lyrics

Hey, they can definitely be poetic! And some of their songs are a little harder to decipher than this. But you're right Taco, I like a band who can get straight to the point and still be saying something. |

Knowing the 'spring, I would bet they're talking about America, but for me the song is about a generation. |

Oh yeah, and if you listen to this on headphones the guitar does this tinny little riff to your top right, it sticks out once you notice it and it's silly as hell. |

I love this song, it's completely serious and yet so silly at the same time. Fun to sing loudly in public, at least the chorus. |

If it's nice outside, wherever you are, please, I urge you, get off your lazy ass and go burn something. Preferably a municipal structure. |

The Offspring – Hypodermic Lyrics

I disagree, BD. I think they mean once "you" (a heroin addict) get a fix, nothing matters for a couple hours. They're not talking about a new user. And yes, they reference death in it, but the song's not just about death. |

The Offspring – Get It Right Lyrics

Man, why do you people even listen to the Offspring? This song is a perfect example of the reason I love the Offspring; anyone who knows what I'm talking about doesn't have to explain this song. It's obvious. If you don't relate in an immediate personal way to this song...well...I guess I envy you. |
